This should be easy, and I think I know my answer, but I just like to get opinions.

A friend and I are going for 6 nights in early June. The price difference is about $200 total. We have both stayed at Aria and enjoyed it and the location. Neither of us have stayed at Bellagio but have gone there and location is similar.

In your humble opinions, is the Bellagio the way to go considering we have never stayed? I say yes.

I have stayed at both recently, and love them both. All I can say is that I felt like a minority at Bellagio, and did not at Aria. I really enjoy the diversity in Las Vegas - and the fact that people from all over the world love Vegas as much as I do, but feel a little funny when English is not the most common language spoken there! Just sayin.....:peace:

Im not a big fan of Bellagio but to be fair i haven't stayed there since they remodelled there rooms and that was my biggest problem with property. This summer i had a friend who asked me the same question and even though i advised him to not go with Bellagio he opted for that option anyway. When he came back he said, i should have listened to you. Bellagio is for old people. So i guess as someone else mentioned, if old try Bellagio otherwise i would probably go with Aria.

Having stayed at both in the past two years, and having stayed in the B's remodeled room, I would pick Aria rooms over Bellagio's on a comparable level room. But that is my tastes so far. An since going out the back valet at Aria and walking across through Vdara and across the elevated connector bridge under the monorail, we can be at the Bellagio in a min of 5-10 mins, you basically have access to both right there. Service wise, Bellagio is a bit better, but drink service at the tables at Aria is better, I feel, since it usually is not as crowded most times. Also Bellagio can get annoyingly packed at times during the day with people passing through and or strolling around compared to Aria. But all that being said, I like Bellagio and eat there every trip and visit multiple times each trip and you cannot go wrong I believe with either, just I prefer the more modern rooms at Aria.

They are really different. It greatly depends on what you are looking for. I've voiced my opinions on here in the past regarding service issues at Aria, but the hotel itself is great. Like Bellagio a lot to and will be staying there in a few weeks. More info about what you're looking for would be helpful. If what you're looking for is a new experience, then gow tih the hotel where you have not stayed

I'd go with Bellagio since you have never stayed there. Plus both hotels are connected via a free tram ride. I've stayed at both and love both. Although I like Aria more, I would choose whichever came up cheaper because access to both hotels is easy. Standard room vs. standard room I like Aria better, they have just about the best mattress on the strip. Lakeview room at Bellagio is pretty awesome though.

I had come down to duking out the same choices as you at one point, and I chose to go with Aria without a single regret. As a foreword, I am a younger guy that likes modernity, so Aria just happens to be right up my alley. It's a newer property, and it really is just nicer overall because of it. Bellagio, even with it's room updates, just felt dated when I considered the property overall - it gave me a "nice retirement home" vibe, whereas Aria was sleek, modern and young. Bellagio I feel is great just because of what it offers in terms of restaurants and and it's location, but if you're not looking to take advantage of any of that, Aria just makes for a nice hotel period. I will say everyone's gotta stay at Bellagio at least once. It is a quintessential fixture on the Strip, and I feel like everyone always finds themselves in there at some point.

Aria would be my choice. If you want to visit Bellagio it's close by, but Aria is the better hotel, IMO.

I like aria over Bellagio for the fact of the modern rooms and Bellagio is just so over run by tourists. I feel cramped at Bellagio.

Here's how I would approach this one. I like both properties, you can't really go wrong at either. As someone else stated, the older crowd is drawn to the older property, and vice versa for Aria and the younger crowd. If that doesn't sway you one way or the other, consider the location and if you want to walk to other properties on/around the strip. I realize this is argued here frequently, but in my opinion the Bellagio has much easier access to the strip (or it seems that way to me), with entrances on both sides and access bridges at either end to cross the street or walk along the strip. Aria seems much more set back, in the back side of City Center. If you are the type who likes to stay in one place most of the time, and enjoy all the amenities the resort has to offer (e.g. stay to eat most/all meals at the home property, play almost exclusively there, use their spa, etc) then Aria may be the better option. I'd also consider the differences in restaurants.... they both have some great ones, but each has its own specialties there too.

Thanks to all of your opinions. One funny thing, I emailed my buddy and said "Aria if you're younger, Bellagio if you're older". His reply was, "Which are we"?

I'm 53 so maybe I fit in at Bellagio, although I never felt old at Aria. Both my friend and I tend to walk a lot and restaurants are not chosen because they're at the home casino. I play poker, so Bellagio or Aria are good. I think we're going to go to Bellagio simply because neither one of us have stayed there.

I haven't stayed at the Bellagio in nearly 10 years, but we've stayed at the Aria our last 2 trips to Vegas, and are staying there again in July. For me, it is a no brainer. I'll stay at the Aria over Bellagio 6 times a week and twice on Sunday.

I hate fighting the crowded areas in Bellagio, the walk ways, etc. And, if we need to go to the Bellagio for anything (afternoon tea, lunch at Olives), the tram is there from Crystals and very convenient.

Well I'm 24 and I prefer Bellagio of the two, if that says anything about the old vs young crowd.

I prefer Bellagio, heavily. I really think both are pretentious, but I feel like Aria is much worse. This is coming from someone who likes NYNY too.

If you haven't stayed at Bellagio yet then its definitely not even a decision, you must try it out.

If staying at Aria i think its actually closer or at least quicker to go out back and thru Vdara and you are right there by the tram stop. The tram stop in crystals is just located so bad and the only time i would tram over from Aria to Bellagio would be if i were right by the poker room so i could use the Monte Carlo stop.

I have stayed at Bellagio 4 times and Aria 6 out of my last 7 trips.
You cannot go wrong with either hotel if you have not stayed there before.
They are at the top end of the MGM food chain and have quite a few great amenities. I stopped staying at Bellagio for several reasons with most having to do with the casino.
The last time I stayed there was before the rooms were renovated so I can't fairly compare them to Aria rooms which are really nice.
The host I had to deal with was beyond terrible and chided me for expecting some food comps after losing 15K in their casino in 3 days.
I also found many of the the dealers arrogant and obnoxious at Bellagio.
I have read some people have had service issues at Aria.
Honestly,my service has been nothing but stellar at Aria across all aspects of the property.

I just went thru this same decision. I booked the Bellagio because of the location. For us, we like to stay at nice hotels (Cosmo is are usual), but gamble/party at the lower end casino's.

Sigh, I am really going to miss Bill's.
