I have a "system" for playing slot machines. I know there are no truly successful systems, however I have had good success with the following. I know this may seem absurd but bear with me.

Whenever I play slots I have a system called "pirouetting". I started doing this long ago at Casino Royale and won quite a bit of money - at least more than I started with. When I was at Casino Royale the $5 WOF slots were together in a circle fashion. I sat down and put $100 in a machine. Within the $100 as soon as I hit "something", not necessarily a wheel spin, I would cash out a move to the next machine in the circle. I would continue doing this for quite a while. In the end I hit the wheel five times and was around $600 ahead. I've tried this several times and have won more than lost...

Perhaps this is stupid logic and I know it is, but it has worked for me in the past. I was at TI last year using this method and won $4800 on a $1 machine with $40 invested.

I have lost several times yes, but it seems to work enough to keep me even

The only system i have is proper money mgmt. I have a daily bankroll for gambling per day. I spread it out over the course of the day and never have to sneak back into my room to bleed the safe. I only play certain slot machines, certain denominations depending on the present situation. For instance: will play quarter machines @ 2 coins. If i get to a certain amount that i feel comfortable with i'll upgrade to dollar machines usually above 200 quarters. If i did below 200 i'll go back to quarters. With penny machines i like to play somewhere in the middle, usually 50-100 credits. Then upgrade to max if i'm showing 4000+ credits until i drop down below 2000 credits in which i go back somewhere in the middle.
To me it's setting a limit per day for losses. If i get a $200 profit on my first day, my bankroll still stays the same. I have learned money mgmt is the best way to enjoy Vegas. It never used to be like that for me........but have learned my lessons.

I avoid slots, but if you have fun with a certain approach to your play, more power to you. The thing with slots is that it is entirely up to the RNG, random number generator, that determines your fate. Like the poster above said, right machine at the right time. But if you have a way that has put some $$$ in your pockets in the past why not.....at the very least it will bring back some good memories and give you some hope that you'll create a few more good memories. After all, that's why we all go to Vegas....to have fun and create lasting positive memories. Good luck and have fun.:peace:

    I do something similar.

I have a bunch of freezers at work and noticed that even if I open and close some throughout the day and not others, they will all seem to want to get to the same temperature. Sort of like they are communicating at some very basic level.

Now look at nirds or other animals. They didnt speak but communicate somehow.

Our brains are just electrical impluses after all. babes can communicate to their parents and they cant speak, only cry. A mother can tell what the different cries of a baby mean.

    Back to the slots.

i think they will all sort of communicate with one another on that very basic level to naturally align themselves with one another. So if one is in sequence of paying out then the others natural tendency will be to do the same thing.

Not always true because people and our influences will interrupt them but I think, if you are in sync with them, then it will work.

I always play the slot next to someone if they are paying out.

I kind of do the same. If I hit a good win on ome, I move to the next one in the bank....seems to work. I've done this at Aria on the Playboy machines and hit a reasonable amount on each one....also tried it downtown on a bank of old Elvis machines. It was only like $60 each time but putting in a 20 and cashing out at $60 4 or 5 times is good enough for me to call it lucky!

Thank you for these wonderful techniques! I plan to do the "humping robot" technique on my next Vegas trip. I'm practicing this technique right now as I type this. I'm pretending the computer is a slot.....machine.

If the "humping robot" technique doesn't work I plan to utilize the "flip the bird" technique, being very careful to stay within the 72 hr. threshold.:poke::thumbsup:

    Slot Techniques

For me, slots are a fun diversion. I (as most players seem to) know that the house edge is high and the results entirely random... In the face of that, I find pleasure in applying various techniques in the process of seeing whether or not I end up lucky for a session.

For me, this means picking certain machines as 'favorites', and patronizing those. Texas Tea for its role as the pioneering title for video slots (and one really great win at Gold Coast a few years ago...), Super Happy Fortune Cat With Lucky Hamster because it's the silliest, longest title for a slot I've ever come across (and very difficult to find - Orleans has one), and last but certainly not least, a 2-coin $0.25 Double-Diamond coin-dropper at El Cortez that I've never hit the jackpot on yet, and am determined to one of these days. :)

Sure, slots are a losing proposition long-term (with some rare exceptions in the progressive side of the game), but if I'm going to be willingly spending money on 'em, I might as well get all the amusement I can out of the process. :)

The slot is $1.00 Instant Spin. I was playing the 5 line one at Monte Carlo. The 3 line one was right across from me. Some guy just hit the "instant Spin" (the Bonus game) so he left it. Since it was the machine closest to my wife playing Top Dollar I started playing "his" machine even though he just bonused. He had a method of bonus game and leave, so he started playing the machine next to this one on the carrousel.

About a minute after I started playing I hit the Progressive for over $10K with him just sitting next to it. Would the RNG line up just right if he would have continued to play? Who knows. But his system didnt help him out here when I "stole" his Jackpot!

    My favorite slot methods:

Good Cop Bad Cop: This requires a friend. If not pooling money, the one who wants to win should play the good cop. Hit the spin button, if a loser shows, the bad cop needs to tell the machine "pay off you $%$^&! machine or there will be hell to pay. The good cop should then say very nicely "he's kind of upset. How about a nice win and we'll play longer." The bad cop can even slap the machine, but not hard enough to get kicked out. Use this routine for a while and the machine will finally break down and pay out

The Blind Man. Shut your eyes, fumble for the button. You can open them after the spin, or for more fun, see if you can't play for a while without knowing what you've got. You can hear a big win.

The Gentle Touch: Barely, and I mean as soft as possible touch the spin button. The lighter the touch the more the win.

Sweet Nothings: Before the spin, lean close into the machine and whisper some flattering things. If you've hit a win you can even use the "L" word. I would save that for a progressive win though. That's getting serious.

The Walkaway: Tell the machine unless it pays, you will leave. Hit the button and start to walk away. Don't go far because it will probably be sad and pay off.

People can laugh at VegasMarv, but I agree with him.
I do something similar - but don't leave after the first bonus unless its really high. But I'll cash out after the second or third bonus. I believe the machines are programmed this way to get you hooked on the machine - until they grab it all back. If a machine doesn't pay off in the short run - I and most everyone will leave, but if you do good quickly, you are apt to stay longer and play. But don't stay too long!

I have done well with this system. Many times.

BUT - THERE IS NO LOGICAL REASON FOR IT.

On a recent visit, I had three great experiences with this.

At Caesars - playing $5 on a penny machine, I would hit one for a few hundred. Move to next in the same bank, do the same thing. By time play 4 out of 6 in that bank, I was up $1,100. Cash out.

Went to Mirage. Played a bank of 4 $1 machines, $15 a spin. Hit 4 of them, up $1,300.

Went to another bank - $1 machines, playing $20. Within 30 minutes 5 of 8 hit, with net over $5k.

    Stupid. Wrong. Should not work.

    But - it did.

If you gamble enough you'll see every anomaly just like the OP. I once moved from machine to machine at Mirage on $1.00 WOF spun each one. All 8 machines for a net of a couple hundo. I left all 8 of them showing spin. It was my mona lisa. But I still wouldnt call it a system for winning.

with WOF machines my memory says that once you hit the "spin" bonus round, another "spin" bonus would soon follow if you played the same machine a bit longer. I've hit 3 "spin" bonuses consecutively, once before.

My WOF strategy is to give the machine 11 spins. If you haven't hit at least mixed bars once, then move onto the next machine

    Slot Dancin'

WOF at MSS and the dollar WOF; they used have a RWB trip 7's there that paid a single credit on the 'blank'

This created the infamous 'blank' dance for me and ol whats her name.

Dance like a fool; watch as passers by cringe; and go back for more.

SPINS will come garrrannnnteeedd right after.

Well sorta; they SEEMED to; and we had enuf 'fun' in us to believe it.

    YMMV
