Hi Everyone! I'm new here, but not new to Vegas. My play has finally gotten to a point where I was assigned a host at Cosmo. She's been great so far (I know that's probably a surprise ot many), and booked my next two trips out with both room and F&B comps upfront. As far as comps go, are upfront comps harder to get then backend? Just curious on how she views my status at the casino. I was there last weekend and racked up 30k+ tier points in one night. Unfortunately, i didn't walk away when I should have. New to the host thing, so just wanted to ask!
Upfront comps are great as they do NOT require any play. You will KNOW what you are getting. Upfront comp are partially because you "earned" them on the last visit, but more so a "bet" by the casino you will be spending just as much this coming trip. Back end comps are tied to your play, which is fine. BUT - you often are at the mercy of the host, the mood they are in at the time, and the mood the mgmt is at the time. This can move around.
It's a good idea to have your host evaluate your play if you have an early flight out. I have forgot to do that and didn't get the back end due to an early check out. My host now puts money on my account after evaluating my play.
Always, always, always. If you have a host, check in advance how they want to handle review for comps based on play at departure.
they can always go back and review your play after you leave and credit your credit card for anything that you paid out of pocket that was later comped. i do this almost every trip. there's no reason to rush to have him look at your play before you leave.
