    Good morning all,

Been about 5 years since I've been to Vegas. Used to make an annual visit or two, but time slipped away and all of a sudden, 5 years flies by. I'm a 52 yr. old from NY, and I don't have that many 5 year periods left in me.

Anyway, I get a postcard from The Trop (used to be one of my regular stops) asking me back, and offering me 3 free nights, so I took them up on their offer. I used to deal with a host named David F. He was great, but I think he moved on to Red Rock or Green Valley or something like that.

I booked a room in Paradise Tower for the 3 nights on Mother's Day weekend. Didn't remember it was Mother's Day when I booked the flights (sorry Mom). Was looking for some comments on the new Trop and the pool area and the craps tables. I've read some stuff on here, and mostly positive stuff, but looking for feedback from those that have been there recently.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday.

We love the Trop. We have stayed at many other resorts in Vegas and it is our #1 pick. However we have only stayed since the renovations.

The service is great. In fact we switched from MGM to the Trop partly because of how they treat their customers. I can't comment on the pool as we never seem to make it there.

Our host is fantastic. If you want to pm me, I can give you his name.

I recommend it. Their customer service is top notch and the rooms are nice as well as convenient to the rest of the property. I have nothing but nice things to say about it. It won't wow you like the mega properties may do in their scale and attractions, but the trop is a great place to stay.

Another +1 from me. I've stayed a few times since the reno's and have nothing but positives to say about the hotel.

My only complaint is the casino is a little small. But at times that's also one of the positives.

And drink service has always been good for me.

Any of you check out their blackjack?

I heard they sometimes have $5 blackjack with 3/2? Is that still occasionally the case?

I wandered into the Trop last trip 2 months ago just to check it out. I can only comment on the casino area as I was not staying at the hotel.

The casino was really very nice. Modern, bright, and new, the renovations undoubtedly make the casino seem very welcoming. The dealer I had was friendly, and my minimal interaction with staff was enjoyable.

I'd consider staying at the Trop in the future. I'm sure the rooms were renovated just as nicely as the casino was. Videos and pictures you can find of the renovated rooms online look magnificent.

My host was Laureene Carolla but she retired. So I got transferred to Jarrod Kesselman. I don't know anything about him. Does anyone have a recommendation for a host there they have reliably worked with?

I was there in January and that was still the case. A few tables during the day and one at night, even on Fri/Sat.

Just to clarify, you are responding to me about the 3/2 $5 blackjack? I hope so!

I'm going to MGM this summer and hoping for some decent BJ rules nearby

thanks for the feedback folks. Sounds like positive feedback, so I'm pumped. Can't wait to get there on 5/11.

I just got thhe Total Rewards credit card. They are offering 2 free passes for the 24 hour of buffets. I think I may need to bring a stomach pump with me.:licklips:
