With all the dive casinos disappearing, where will you go for a casual drink and gaming? Which places can you just hang out without feeling like you are out of place when not dressed up and not wanting to be around pretentious people.

My thoughts are Pour 24/NYNY, The Pub/Monte Carlo, Toby Keiths/Harrahs.

Casino Royal for cheap beers and gambling. A cool outside patio bar for a few beers and people watching is PBR Rock Bar and Grill at Planet Hollywood

Casino Royale is still a little bit too much of a dive for me. I'd agree on NYNY. Maybe Mandalay Bay to a certain extent too.

I think the 3 you mentioned are the best ones.

Flamingo or Harrahs, without a doubt. I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear a suit in either of those

TI is positioning itself as a casual type of establishment. They've cleared out their club and upscale dining options. TI is Phil Ruffin's New Frontier 2.0.

I thought of the Heart Bar but I don't think it fits the OPs classification of unpretentious.
I have been in there and it looked like a small DB convention.

A few more good options here, thanks. Still going to miss Bill's. Thanks for the conversation and ideas.

IMHO Phil Ruffin destroyed TI. I want pirates back and the big pirate logo :(

I agree. I want Jack Sparrow's presence on the Marquee, i want the old TI show out front, Buccaneer Bay, not the Sirens or whatever they still call it, i want Pirate's damn it. I stayed at Treasure Island the first weekend it opened in 1993 and went there over the years until the Booty killer took over. Once they changed the sign that was it for me. Ironically, when the hotel first opened and for the many years after, it was geared towards kids with the Pirate theme.

Maybe Tropicana, but I haven't been there when its crowded @ night.

Definitely NYNY, they continue to have a good atmosphere in that place.

The various bars @ the P-Ho mall are pretty casual. Additionally, I don't think the P-Ho casino is TOO pretentious, maybe just a little.

Yeeeesir. The Sirens looks like a bunch of high school kids pretending to act
    Utterly stupid.

I think removing the pirate theme started way before Phil Ruffin bought the place.

I think the biggest strip property. which was destroyed visually inside and de-themed, was the Luxor. It was ten times better when it opened than it is now.

Being a "grown up" now, I remember the cleopatra/Egyptian theme heavily throughout the casino. Along with the canal and the touristy stuff. Really the only thing worth in there now is the few lounges near the lobby and reception desk. With the Mexican bar upstairs.

The Tequila bar and Indigo Lounge at Ballys are cool places to hang out and have a drink without being dressed up.
