    If you make it downtown...

Gold Spike has a $6.99 prime rib special, 4pm - midnight, in their restaurant. (It's a small joint and they only have one restaurant... Again, not sure if you're a downtown person, or if you're used to huge, monolithic Strip joints with many restaurants.)

    You can't beat $6.99.

I've had the special twice in the past couple years and it's been worth it to me. It includes a baked potato and corn. It does not include any drink, but the servers didn't seem to care that I brought in a drink I was served by a cocktail waitress in their casino, into the restaurant.

    Their website

    http://www.goldspike.com/specials/index.html

has some details and now states that player's club (slot card) membership is required. The site does seem out of date, though.

But the last time I was there (at a very late hour, I think 4am, and I did not eat then), they were in the process of changing their player's club to something else other than Siegel, so I don't know if this is the case now.

    Hope this helps.

if you are on the south end of the strip, Try the Mad Onion at Hooters casino. Its $10 for a prime rib dinner with a potato and side. Not a huge cut (i think it ws an 8 oz maybe 10oz at most) but tasted good. It used to be all night but the website says 5pm-11pm now. The last time I was there they even had a special for 2 prime rib dinners and a bottle of wine for like $30.

Primarily Prime Rib at South Point isn't as inexpensive as the two mentioned above, but it's very reasonable for the quality of the restaurant and the overall experience. I think their standard prime rib meal is $16.99, which includes salad and a baked potato. I'll be returning there in a few weeks and am really looking forward to it.

    I have 2 suggestions,

Prime Rib Loft at Orleans and Rosewood Grill at California. Cal has 2 sizes 16oz and 24oz.

Both are very good, and will not break the budget.

Inexpensive? Cortez Room at Gold Coast.

    Pretty cheap? Ellis Island.

ellis island has a decent prime rib meal. more expensive than the $8 versions of the prime rib, but a better value in my opinion.

gold spike was the cheapest i have ever consumed, and i wouldn't do it again.

I'm sure the food is good there .... I just didn't care for the neighborhood at 4am when we left palominos... Also its kinda out of the way so you might be better off going there if you have a rental car.

Downtown at the Market Street Cafe in the California Hotel/Casino ....

Prime Rib special, with huge baked potato, veggie (usually green beans), including a trip to the salad bar, and cherries jubilee for dessert ... $9.99

You will NOT leave hungry !!!

It's a creepy neighborhood! I would never go alone, even driving.

The casino is perfectly safe. You can valet park right at the north door. I get the impression that many of the players are USAF locals. It's off the beaten path but close to downtown and the prime rib is worth the trip!
