I wonder how much long term damage they have done to their brand? As an avid cruiser, I am not deterred one bit from getting on a ship. However, I was not a Carnival customer before all these incidents and it certainly would make me think twice about choosing their product now.

I sailed on the Triumph in '08

I'm back on my Vegas kick again. Not eager to sail on Carnival any time soon.

I love Carnival cruise line because.....

I always have a BLAST! Plus, it is affordable. I am a single senior lady and I have fun with young and old dancing and singing on the ship. I get to meet lots of fun people.

I am located on the West Coast and Carnival ships and one Princess cruise ship
are mostly located on the west coast during most of the year. Some times other
cruise companies show up. I will be cruising North on the NCL Jewel ship in May.

I don't worry about ship problems because I always cruise near land going south or north. I can see the land from the ship.

I am a survivor and know how to take care of myself and if a problem should happen on any ship I know that I will survive. If not.... my daddy told me just to
float on the ocean until I get picked up.lol.

I love the ocean more than land. I don't get sea sick. I get land sick when I get
home from a cruise. I always need to take meds to feel better when I step on land.

All cruiselines have had their problems for years. They are lucky that their problems have not been made public.
Check out EVENTS AT SEA website and you will see all the problems for several years. LucyR.

Carnival is a great cruise line but in the last few years they've had issues yes. I'm going on them again in August and couldn't care less, I always have fun!

    its great news.
because of the issues they have had the brand has taken a slating and they are dropping prices to attract customers.

I've booked a 8 day cruise this summer for the 4 of us on a balconey that normally would have been out of the price point I wanted to pay.

there is as much chance of the issues they have had hapening to any ship. However as they have so many ships out there the odds increase that it'll be a carnival owned ship that gets into trouble.

    bring it!!!

I think that the publicity hurts the entire industry.

I sail on my 33rd cruise next week and 34th in June (14th & 15th with Carnival) and the news doesn't phase me. There are better cruise lines for sure and Carnival's food & entertainment isn't nearly as good as it was a few years ago. But I still think the series of mishaps are coincidental.

    We cruisers like......

We like to hear bad news about any ship having problems because then the rates go down to being really affordable for us big time cruisers. I have cruised
on 7 different cruise lines in my life-time and cruised more than 55 times.

I already have a cruise booked on NCL Jewel for May, Sapphire Princess for Halloween, Sapphire Princess for Dec. 15th. I am also thinking of booking another Carnival ship for my birthday in Feb.

I love cruising and I love the ocean. LucyR.

Yes, I am a cruise ship addict!

If I could afford to live on a cruise ship I would do it. Lots of seniors with money do that. It is considered cheaper than living in an old folks home... I hear.

Old folks homes cost approx. $6,000 per month and on up in L.A. LucyR.

I am gonna stick to the Viking River Cruise - if hell comes to the boat - safety is a mere 50 feet away to shore.

The Carnival Family has 101 ships

On a recent "behind the fun" ship's tour with Carnival, we found out the Carnival familly has 101 ships. This includes Cunard, the Queen Elizabeth, Cunard and Carnival. With this many ships at sea at any given time, mishaps are bound to happen. It was amazing to see ALL they do to promote safety and to preserve the ocean. Our next cruise.....June 1 right after our May 1 Vegas trip.

    Carnival also owns.....

Princess cruiseline, Celebrity cruiseline, and I think they also own Royal Carribean. Also own Costa cruiseline.

I think NCL is still the only cruiseline not owned by Carnival. I wonder if
Holland America is also owned by Carnival? LucyR.

    Hi Lucy,

Carnival does own Holland America, but not Royal Caribbean (they're fierce competitors) or Celebrity. Royal Caribbean owns Celebrity.
