The Fremont Country Club opens (downtown music venue)

This almost fits into the Downtown forum but the Fremont Country Club has opened. Its a large live music venue directly next to the Backstage Bar and Billiards. Same owners, same vibe. Across from the El Cortez.

Nice!! Love new additions to the DT!!

 

Not me. I was staying at the EC when this place had a soft opening. Music blaring until 4 am that weekend. Unlike others I don't like the redevelopment of downtown, almost like they are trying to cater to the younger strip crowd with their loud clubs and such. IMHO they have enough clubs in that area, with more stuff opening. While I don't mind a sensible redevelopment it seems like they are trying to make that area more of a "club" scene.

Even at the EC, on thurs - sat there was a guard who would only let hotel guests access to the EC parking lot at night. The guard even asked me for my room key and number and wanted some details to make sure that I was actually staying at the hotel. This happened many times I drove into the parking lot. I'm over 50, as if I would be going to those clubs.
