Bellagio, Aria, Vdara or etc?

Good evening all,

I just joined up for some info as I have my first ever Vegas trip in May- I've just booked my flights and would be grateful for some opinions on hotels.

I have searched and probably have information overload..

We fly in at the end of May on a friday early evening and leave again the following Tuesday. Its our 10 year wedding anniversay and as I had promised Vegas...

Anyway, decided to book it sperately as I can probably save around £1200/$1700 rather than going for a package from the UK.

So hotel choice...

Ive had a search, read the reviews and am still none the wiser and would be really grateful for peoples views who have actually been there.

I am thinking of the Bellagio, Aria, Vdara etc- all that sort of level.

Would also be grateful to find out if there are any sites where you are able to get deals on rooms rather than booking direct.

So, sorry for all the questions..

A few questions to help in recommendations...what are you looking for?
Luxury, right? What's the priority....gambling, food, shows? Are you both healthy and in good shape for walking?

What do you consider your "deal breakers?"

The Hotel/casinos you listed are all MGM properties. I would go to the MLife website and join.This will get you a little better price. You can check for the best room/price once you join. You would still be looking at $360 a night for Saturday and Sunday, about 160 for the other nights. That does not inchlude the dreaded resort fee of $20.00 ??? per night. As far as which is better, these are all top tier properties and any would be really nice. So go by the best deal among these. Hope this helps! Bob

 

All of those are great options. Want to give us your exact dates? Maybe we can find you some deals.

If it's your first trip, I would recommend something center strip, with a casino and amenities. Aria would be a GREAT option. It's new, great location, lots to see and do there. Bellagio is also great, it would probably be more romantic since it's your anniversary, get a room with a fountain view. Vdara is fantastic, but the hotel has no amenities, so I wouldn't recommend it for a first trip. Unless having a big suite with a view is a number one priority for you.

Also since you are going over a weekend, for a 5 star property expect to pay around $200+ US a night for a room on Friday and Saturday, Sunday and Monday should be less. I know the end of May is an expensive time in Vegas. Also factor in the $28 per night resort fee for every property.

Also with a 5 star property you need to consider everything is 5 star, high limit gambling, 5 star dining, high end shopping. I find personally, I'm usually a little more comfortable at some of the 4 star properties as there is more to see and do at somewhat reasonable prices without leaving the premises.

Yes, tell us what you want to do in Vegas (shopping, dining, gambling, shows sight seeing..), and how much you want to spend, and how ok you are with walking or paying for cab fare.

My budget is 'flexible' that said, Id like the best deal for the money!

I have never been in a casino in my life, so would like to try, but aside from that, Food and a Show!

We have got rid of the kids, so it is 'us' time- might even look to renew our vows we are there.

Given our strict gun laws in the UK I also said we would do a shooting range as my wife has nver shot before..

So, nice hotel, some pool time, and good food, oh and shopping apparantly- I've just been told that, oh and more shopping...

 

Based on that info, I would got with bellagio. Its romantic, has excellent food options, and O is a great show.

 

For info, fly in at 6.30pm on the 24th, fly out AM on the 28th.

You cant go wrong with any of them. But if it is your first time i would recommend the ARIA or Bellagio. Aria location is perfect they have a tram that can take you to Bellagio. Aria property itself has many things to explore. But what is also good about the Aria - there is an underground passage way to the Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo has cheaper everything when it comes to food. Somtimes you just need a quick bite. Aria and Bellagio have plenty of great dining experiences.

Aria has the crystals. The crystals is a luxury shopping complex. if you want cheaper shopping i would recommend going to the fashion show mall up the the strip or the forum at ceasars palace. The crystals has the type of clothes you see during New York Fashion week.

Go Bellagio, fountain view

Can't go wrong. Bellagio is easy to navigate without getting lost, you have the conservatory, chocolatier/chocolate fountain, plenty of great restaurants, Bellagio Gallery of Fine Arts (right now, it's all Andy Warhol originals) nice pool and there is something you can't really explain about Bellagio, but it just "feels money." Can't explain what it is or why, but when you walk in and around, it just feels like money.
It's easy to get into and out of, right at the strip.

Aria is beautiful, but navigation of City Center/Aria is all a big pain and likely not best for a first timer.

With a Bellagio fountain view, you'll be able to see "Las Vegas" (meaning the strip, what you know as Las Vegas) from your window. It's a great view, with the fountains in the foreground and Paris and Eiffel Tower just beyond that. It is a romantic view.

 

I think Bellagio is still what Vegas is all about... great location, great service, great room (get a fountain view), great restaurants, bars, clubs... it's the class of the strip!

 

Although Aria is my home away from home, That being said I would still suggest you guys stay at Bellagio. Try for a fountain view. Can't get better then that for a romantic stay.
We will be in Vegas may 7-12. For us this time we are doing first 3 at Palazzo and last 3 at Aria sky suites.

Another vote for Bellagio. We are going for our 4th stay there. As others have suggested try a stay in a fountain view room and taking in the show "O". Also you may want to try a nice dinner at Le Cirque...all while staying right at Bellagio. It also is a great location to see other nearby sights and fairly easy walks to Paris, Ceasars and other nearby resorts.

First trip to Las Vegas and staying at Bellagio....SWEET!

Great ideas, but you are picking the higher price hotels. You can still get a nice room and have a great time at other places like Paris. I would not rule that out. There are so many things to do in Vegas, do not let the room rule the visit.

Scan down through the postings from the past month and you will get some more ideas. This sort of question comes up often and various ideas get tossed around.

 

The Aria is very nice but there is something about it that just doesn't set it apart from other resorts. For your first trip your should book the Bellagio it's just going to be a great first experience in vegas. Also look into Caesars, its a nice place too. But the B is my first choice hands down.

 

I understand people like Bellagio...it is really nice. But I found a deal for you at Aria with $100 Food and Beverage Credit for $760.
