Diamond Rez Confirmation Call

OK, my last trip to LV was back in June, so I do not know when this changed and if there is a thread on it, sorry.

I worked out my reservations at paris with my host which included a limo ride and the type of room, a Red Premier, arriving this monday.

So yesterday I get a confirmation call, really? This is new to me.
Nice young lady calls and says she's calling from Diamond Reservations to confirm my arrival for monday and of course I confirmed it and then reviewed it with her as agreed with my host, and it didn't quite match. She just had me in Red Luxury and no limo, so I told her it was Red Premier (she tried to say all Red's are Lux...wha??) and I gave her my flight info.

I started thinking, if my host put it in and this confirmation lady put it in, is it possible there could be duplications, especially on the limo service? I don't want to create issues or waste people's time.

So I email my host and she took care of it all this morning.

So I don't know when the phone call confirmation thing started, but the lesson I got from it is to just agree with whatever they say, then confirm with your host afterwards to make sure the two don't get altered or intertwined.
While I understand it is part of the service, I can see there easily being confusion if you try to add/correct something when the service calls, so leave it to your host and just say "yup, all good" when the service calls.

 

I've had a phone call every time except this last to confirm our reservation. And every time we were already in Vegas at a different casino. This time Paris was the first stop so I was expecting the call that never came.
