LOL. I thought I'd share something that happened at MGM mansion awhile back that I couldn't believe we got away with. Just some background info for the readers, the bacc tables have an electronic card reader on all the shoes that records what cards were dealt and in turn will post the winner (Banker or Player) after the deal is complete so that the dealer doesn't have to manually enter in which side won to keep the score board up to date.

So on with my story. I was at a baccarat table where the players all bet heavy on the BANKER, including me, and the cards were drawn (there were no bets on PLAYER). Somehow, with approx 5 players at the table, no one noticed that the dealer gave the PLAYERS cards to the highest better to peek at and the result was a natural 9 winner. So the dealer took the cards, placed them on the BANKER side and paid all of us. The dealer mistakenly switched the BANKER and PLAYERS hands. As you can guess, the score board now showed PLAYER as the natural 9 winner and left the dealer and pitboss scratching their heads. They dismissed it as a machine error and continued on. Of course I didn't say a damn thing. LOL.

Interesting. Frankly, I'm surprised the eye in the sky did not catch up with you all later and reverse the hand

That's cool. I've seen that happen but never actually paid out like that. They usually figure it out.

I saw a dude bet $10k on tie for ten consecutive hands, all losses, and then signed a marker for $250k and only betting on ties lose it all ($350k) in a matter of about an hour. He might have won two or three tie hands the entire time. Hope he got some good comps............:nono:

OMG, I've never seen that before. I rarely ever bet tie and if I ever do, it's never more than a $100 and usually it's for the dealers. I think out of all the ties I've ever bet, I've only hit it once for the dealers for a sweet $800 tip for them. Anyone who play Bacc often will know it's a sucker bet. Something like a 14% casino edge I think.

I was once playing on a table with a guy who was losing around $400k and what happened was we all bet on Banker where he got to see the cards as he had a $25k bet max. This guy always likes to see his cards first and then he will tell the dealer to turn over the face down hand afterwards. Well, the dealer turned over the PLAYERS hand prematurely and PLAYER had a natural 9. The guy was furious and demanded that this was a mis-deal and refused to accept the loss. The pitboss clamped down on the situation and basically told him the reality that the cards don't change and the deal is valid. This guy was pissed and yeah, I was disappointed with the loss but the dealer didn't do anything to change the outcome.

I am shocked this would happen in the Mansion. The dealers there are usually really professional and pay attention.

I have played A LOT of baccarat, and sadly I can't say that I've ever seen anything really that crazy happen.

I would like to know what time you were playing. Since if the dealer is near the end of his/her shift, this may explain why this would happen.

I see people go crazy with the 12 to 1 Pair Bets. Especially in Vegas where this is a very popular side bet in the high end casinos, you will very likely see some whale with enough chips to buy a Ferrari throw major brownies towards these Pair bets.

Surprisingly, the scenario at the MGM where the dealers paid us off despite the machine saying otherwise was in the morning, around 10am. Not exactly sure when shifts end or start.

For the story where the dealer prematurely flipped the PLAYER cards, this was at Aria and was probably around 3:00am-ish.

This kind of stuff is why I am always looking for a bac table with fat players. No matter what order you turn the cards, they stay the same. A little suspense is fine. But the players that take a full minute to turn their cards drive me nuts

Are fat players very spry? Which ones are the best? Like morbidly obese ones or the ones with just a little beer belly?

LOL, "fat" players... I personally don't mind it when the players take their time when viewing the cards as long as it's within reason. What I don't like are players who spend a ton of time without knowing the combinations of how many "sides" work together to form a potential natural 8 or 9. An example would be someone taking a too long peeking at cards where the cards had a combination of 2 sides(4 or 5) and 3 sides (6, 7, or 8). There is no possible combo that would give you a natural so that's when it can speed up. Or worse, a monkey and no sides (A, 2 or 3). LOL
