TI or The Signature at MGM

Ok here is my question.....

Which would you stay at, here are the details.....

TI $650 taxes in, 2 for 1 buffet, 2 for 1 show

The Signature $745 taxes in for a suite with a balcony.

 

TI, hands down. Walk out the front door, 100 yards more, you're on the strip. Signature, walk out the door and 1/2-3/4 miles more, you're on the strip. I would never tell a first timer to stay at an "off the beaten path" place like Signature or Circus Circus. You need to go to LV once and see where they are before selecting them or you will be in for a big surprise. MGM, is either the largest or 2nd largest hotel in the world, and Signature is behind it, and not 50 feet behind it either. It also does not have a casino. First-timers should stay on the strip if they want to get the real feel of Vegas. After that you'll be more educated as to what you may want on subsequent trips.

 

Agree with Buck Schott. Never stayed at TI but I think for your first trip, staying in an excellent strip location is a good idea.

 

Add me to the list for TI. Signature is nice, but doesn't have that "vibe." ...& that walk gets real old

 

Spending all your time @ the MGM complex (trade show, work,etc)= signature.

Going to LV for fun = TI, or another hotel in that area.

 

TI...Holiday Inn on the strip.

 

Thanks so very much for the replies. What other hotels comparable to TI would you stay at. I am looking to spend about 700.00 and my dates are May 7 to 14.

 

For price and location, TI is going to be hard to beat. Within that range of price you can look at Planet Hollywood (not as good of a pool as TI) and Monte Carlo.

 

Curious how you came to those two for your selection. There are so many hotels up and down the strip

Personally, I would look to more center strip for first visit. Also, if you think you are coming back with the next year, think about a hotel that will offer you free or discounted rooms next time.

 

Part of it depends on what is important to you.
The rooms at Signature are superior to anything you will see at TI.
If a reasonably priced suite is more important than a standard hotel room then signature is your choice.
Just know that even though it is attached to MGM it is a real hike to get into the back side of the hotel even with the moving walway part of the way.
TI has a better location.
In that price range usually you can find Ballys,Monte Carlo and others that would compare to TI.At Monte Carlo you can walk into Aria without going outside which you may find to be a plus.

The Monte Carlo is nicer than TI by a small margin, but if you're a video poker player it has what might be the worst selection of VP on the strip, and that's saying something.

 

I am really not set on any hotel, just signed up to a bunch and keep getting email offer so really just wants something that isn't going to cost a whole lot. We are going to hubby 50th birthday and will probably never return to vegas. We are the type of people who like to see alot of places and rarely do we go to place more than once, only exception have been Italy and New York City. We really don't plan on gambling huge amounts of money.

Now I am going to check out Monte Carlo. What other suggestions do you have for my dates, May7-14?
