Are there any casino games that you play in your local casino or other destinations that you enjoy but can't find in Vegas? I know for most games this isn't an issue but maybe some game variation, carny game, or specific variant of VP or slot machine?

Mine is Spanish 21. Its popular in AC and in the Caribbean and a similar games called Pontoon in Australia and parts of Asia. Its basically a souped up version of blackjack. It has a bunch of rule variations that are all in the player's favor and only one variation in the houses favor which is they use 48-card decks (the four 10s are removed). You get a lot more chances for doubles and splits, you can double on any number of cards. If you draw to 21 you win automatically, no risk of pushing. You get bonuses for 5, 6, or 7 card 21s. You can surrender after doubling. You can re-hit split aces. Over here the dealer always stands on soft 17.

The house edge is about 0.40% so lower than most BJ games. But its even better than that because as most BJ players know your best money making hands are those doubles and splits and you have more opportunities for them in this game. Its also funner from a pure gambling perspective because optimal play calls for being a bit more aggressive (i.e. you hit and double more often).

Do you have any games you like that you wish were in Vegas?

Vegas has Spanish 21 I know I've seen it at a few CET properties. Not sure if any mgm or others have it or not.

Triple Trouble Video Keno. They use to be in MGM and Bellagio, but now they are gone. A newer HD version is at bellagio but I like the old bluescreen gamemaker version. Great time killer too!

Do you remember which ones? I haven't seen it there but don't really know the CET properties well. According to the Spanish 21 website it isn't anywhere on the strip. Other google searches come up with the only recent sightings at Venetian and Cosmo...though with inferior rules.

Spanish 21 is definitely at The Venetian and Palazzo. I played it a few weeks ago there. Their rules aren't very player friendly (8 decks, H17).

I tried to find it at The Cosmopolitan but didn't see it there.

No MGM or CET properties on the strip have Spanish 21.

As for my favorite hard to find game, it'd be Caribbean Stud. Monte Carlo and the Venetian are the only places that seem to have it on the strip anymore.

I like ACE$ video poker, and I like bartops. There are no ACE$ bartops that I can find. I can find ACE$ at Orleans ,M Resort (and maybe Fremont) and I can find 9/6 Jacks bartops in a few places (MSS is my favorite). If someone put these two together it juat might be my kryptonite.
I also like Total Rewards and I like Full Pay VP. Vegas has Total Rewards and Vegas has Full Pay VP, but not in the same casino. I have to go to Atlantic City for that.

The game is called TWO WAY-MONTE and I have only seen it at MGM Detroit.

It's an ultimate carney game with a huge house advantage, but just like any other game, when the cards are good the pay out is great.

You are dealt 6 cards and you have to make 2 three card hands with the "lower" 3 card hand played against the best 3 of 4 cards dealt to the dealer. The rules/play is simliar to 3 Card Poker, but the payouts are a lot better. It's a sucker game, but when I want a break from my usual play I will throw some cash down and hope that SAM(stupid ass machine) is in a good mood.

Dime Store. Seven card poker, fives and tens are wild, and with a four showing, the receiving player gets an extra card. Seven of a kind is a valid hand. Great to play with professionals in a high stakes poker game. Lots of river action.

Boy, this game sounds bad! If the rules for setting your hand are similar to Pai Gow, the lower 3 card hand you are setting can't be that great, and the dealer with any pair or Ace will most likely beat you most hands! Is this correct in the times you have played?

count me among the Spanish 21 fans who is disappointed that you can't find it with any regularity in Vegas.

i could still find a table or two a few years ago in Excalibur.

once upon a time you could still find it at Casino Royale.

within the past two years you could still find it at the D, when it was still the Fitz. first time i was in the D after the conversion, no S21 to be found, and that was the only table i found that had double-double-double on one hand.

i wasn't sure you could find it anywhere any more, so i'm surprised to hear that they have it at Venetian and Palazoo. rules are not that favorable and the minimum is certain to be higher than i want to play. oh well.

Definitely not a game to play while drinking (especially if you're playing deuces wild). You know immediately that you have a winning hand, but it can sometimes take a lot of rearranging the cards before you find the maximum value.

My game: The Quebec casinos have a Diamond Lotto game that works like the old sweepstakes lotteries (six-digit number, get prizes for matching any 3,4 or 5 numbers, get bigger prize for matching them in order) but it also has a bonus game like a regular video slot machine.

In terms of games like BJ/craps/bacc- yes it is bad, but I would rather play this then Miss. Stud or a few other carney games.

There is no "wild" card and you try to set your two hands to maximize the lower hand. The key is just like Pai Gow, the lower hand(which is the only hand that plays) has to be a lesser value or a tie with your better hand.

You can play a 3-4-5 straight on top and if you had a 3-4-5 str on the bottom as well.

    Bets:

pair+ bet: pays on any pair or higher-flush,straight,trips, straight flush. This where I play the most money, since it is a bet against my cards and not whether I beat the dealers hand. Just like a pair plus in 3CP, but with better paying odds. Trips will pay 100-1, str flush pays 200-1.

Ante bet: I try to close to table min with this bet since the house edge to beat my cards is high.

Play bet: you can play 1-3x the ante bet at any time. I will only 3x my bet with a flush or higher.

My usual bet pattern, which after playing enough hands and talking with the dealers that deal this seems to be the correct way to maximize your wins, is to play a lot more on the pair + bet. Most of the time it is a $5-10 min bet. I have never see it higher then that.

I will play $25-100 in the pair plus and $5-10 in the ante bet. The max is always $100 in the pair plus with $500 in the ante bets.

This is a house game for sure, but I have had good succes with it in the past, so I am more inclined to play it. The way I bet it, I am hoping for a pair every hand- guaranteed winner.

They still had a handful of those older GameMaker machines at NYNY last month.

I miss the three reel "Winning Streak" slot machine. Used to be a favorite at my local casino.

I also liked the original three reel version of "Jackpot Party" - I think you can still find it at Luxor for $1 ($5 to spin) but just a couple of years ago the 25 cent version was everywhere on The Strip and a few places Downtown had a nickle version.

I used to play Turbo Reelette at NYNY every trip until they took it out (a slot machine game where its like playing 5 roulette games at once). The game wasn't anything special, but you could really rack up a load of MLife points and get a large amount of play (and thus coin through) quickly and without the volatility of slots.

Actually, the minimum was $10 at the Venetian on a Friday night when I was there a few weeks ago. Probably cause most people don't know much about Spanish 21 and therefore people are more hesitant to play it than regular BJ.

Atom,If I am correct that that game has letters next to each Ace (CASH or something hit in order?) well I saw it and played it at the Rio Sportsbook bartop.Could still be there but it may have been 2 trips ago (over a year) I tried it..As far as the paytable, well it has to be equal to the other games at bartop/Rio.And by Total Rewards you mean CET?

I will check this as I will be in the Rio May 1st if you want.pm your email to me and I'll make a note of it in my reservations etc etc page I travel with to contact you about it.

Yeah, but each Ace either has an A, C, E, or $ printed on it. Hence the name of ACE$ Bonus Poker. Getting ACE$ in order in positions 1-4 or 2-5 wins a Royal payout with a max bet. If it's at the Rio Bars, it almost certain to payout at 6/5 (97.11%), or possibly pay out with two pair being a push (even worse).

And yeah Total Rewards = CET = terrible video poker in Vegas. :(
