    Hi everyone,
I have some questons and hopefully you wonderful people can help me.

When I go to the mlife website, i see my standard offer (I'm Platinum) and when I email my host that is usually the offer he offers me which makes me wonder why I have a host in the first place? If thats the offer, I can just call VIP services and book it myself!

So my question is can the host offer more? or whatever is on my account is what I get?

I always want to ask for something better but not sure how much "comp" power the host actually has?? or am i even able to get something more based on my play/level?

    Some stats:

My bankroll is usually $2-3k for 3 nights. I play max bet and play mainly slots.
1st trip of the year was back in February, accumulated 95k of tier credis (really good trip, could not lose) Went back in March and accummulated only 55k in tier credits (horrible trip, lost my shirt), planning to go back in May to redeem myself!! LOL

Thanks in advance for your help!

when you call the VIP line, ask them to manually evaluate your play history. if they still refuse to provide a comp, request to have a host review it. chances are, the host would agree to something basic (e.g. 2 nights comped but no upfront F&B)

A host CAN offer more than what your offers show. Whether he WILL or not depends on several things.

For me, I have no offers showing on MLife other than discounted rooms. I called a host at Mirage, he evaluated my play, I told him what I wanted and he actually gave me a little more than I asked for. So to recap, website: discounted room; Host: free suite for two nights and some F&B.

If you've got a relationship with a host already and he's offering you what's on the website, you can take that as a sign that he's not seeing your play as anything more than what the offer says. But that doesn't mean a different host at a different property would see it differently. They all have guidlines they are working at, and they change from time to time without notice to the mid/low level player.

If you think your play warrants something better than what you're getting, I recommend calling a different MGM property and asking to speak to a host. Tell him what you've got, tell him what you're looking for, and ask him if he can help you. He either will or he won't. Either way, you'll gain information.

Thank you for the advice. I have emailed my host at the Aria with my questions and expectations, lets see what he comes back with.

I love staying/playing at the Aria but if they don't see my play as enough to get an offer better than the standard, well then I guess it will be time for me to move on....

I will let you guys know the outcome!

    Thanks again for your help!

people always ask if their play deserves "more" like there's a bucket full of comps and the host can give you another spoonful. you have to figure out what will make you happy and ask for it. hosts generally don't track you down just to throw things at you, but they're often open to giving you things that you ask for. so if in the past you've gotten 3 nights and you want "more", next time ask for $300 in F&B credit also. or ask for a bigger room. or some FP. sometimes the answer will be no, but oftentimes the answer will be sure. but it all depends on what's important to you. some people have no use for F&B credit because they eat cheap. other people have no use for a big suite because they're never in the room anyway. so you have to figure out what is important to you and ask for that.

okay well guess the Aria does not feel that my play is enough.
    Here is my hosts response:

Thank you for your business with Aria. Appreciated. Your current offer is same as Mlife. What we do as casino host is a discretionary comp based on your play and personal services for all your casino resort needs during your stay. I will offer you a better room type for your May trip( high up floor with city view) Please let me know if you want to book. Thank you.

I guess I will take my "low rolling" butt somewhere else....

Not sure I see what the issue is. In the end, your host will comp you based on play. Your offers will always "seem" lower than they should be - the key is to work with the host to ensure you get any extra deserved comps when you settle up at the end of your trip. Just my humble opinion, but I think people focus too much on the upfront offers and may completely be missing some comps if they do not settle up with VIP/Casino Marketing before checking out.

I recommend judging your host based on:

    1. Help in setting up the trip
    2. "personal services for all your casino resort needs during your stay"
    3. Overall comps - so consider any upfront offers as well as "discretionary comp based on your play".

Again, just my humble opinion, but your hosts reply seemed pretty honest and upfront. Upgrade to better room is a nice touch.

I agree. Seemed like a decent response to me.

I just went though same thing.

My CET offers were pretty significant, and I admit they get more of my play because I usually stay there because of their offers.
My MGM offers were mostly discounted rooms, so I contacted an MGM host and a host at B, at MGM he offered comp rooms and eval at the end on any charges (F&B) and B offered free weeknight, discount weekend. So, they were able to do more than online.

As for service upfront, my CET host has always been good to me and does her best to grant my wishes when possible, but at the same time, I don't ask a lot. She also knows that I know my part in this arrangement, that I have to put in my 4-hours a day, minimum. I ask for limo ride from airport, done. Asked for a single ticket to Shania, done. I'll charge a couple meals to my room, and she'll take care of it.

My level is not too far more than the OP's, so if you went to CET, where they seem to like slot players, you may get better offers.

I'm going on Monday, so I plan to get my CET time in, but also grind out some time at MGM to see what that does for future services.

I think it important to reiterate the importance of total comps at end of day, not just the up front offers. You are not making apples to apples comparisons if you fail to do this.

what did you ask for? he did offer a better view, which is certainly a nice touch. not sure why that would warrant the desire to leave.

I know it sounds silly, but I think it's a matter of risk.
In gambling, we know what the house odds are and we're playing with that full knowledge, but when it come to hosts/offers/ADT and whatever mathematic formulation that we are not aware of, adding to that you have the unknown of the host being a jerk and/or maybe not getting any the night before, their "review" of your play at the end MIGHT result in nothing.

At least with CET, I know what I am getting upfront, with a little "maybe" at the end.

Room only with a "review" at the end is like a used car dealer saying "trust me" in my eyes.

I hear you. I guess that is one of the reasons it is important to develop a relationship with the host so that the trust is there. For those who do not have that relationship, I can see your point.

...but back to the reply that the OP got from his host - I thought it was a pretty honest reply and inspired a degree of trust.

IF the OP is interested in trying to build a relationship, seems like going with Aria for this trip is a reasonable gamble to try and build that relationship/trust.
