I am staying at Caesars Palace for the 1st time on a 5 day comp in May. i can choose any standard room, but have narrowed it down to the Palace, Augustus, and Octavious towers. i really dont care about having a fountain view, so what would you suggest?

fyi, I will be with my wife (non gambler) and 2 year old daughter. In the past we have stayed at Encore, Aria, and Mirage.

Also, what is the pool like?
and any restaurant recomendations onsite (price no limit, I have plenty of RCs)

    Augustus would be my choice.

guessing she will be stuck in the room some with 2 year old while you gamble away the college fund (LOL). So, in that case, a fountain view would be a plus.

Restaurants galore. Hard to say which one works best with a 2 year old. They do get antsy during an extended dinner time.

All three towers are good choices, but I agree with nostresshere about Augustus. Its standard rooms are very nice, and it isn't too far from the Strip -- at least by Las Vegas standards!

Octavius Tower is newer, and arguably a touch nicer, but it's further from the Strip. On the other hand, Octavius is closer to the pool, if that's important.

Palace would be my third choice. It's rooms aren't quite as nice, and it's far from the Strip. However, the rooms are still very good, and it's close to the pool.

The pool area is very nice indeed. Composed of a main pool and a number of other pools, it offers a variety of atmospheres for adults. Sadly, while I may act like a two year old, I am many decades older, and can't say what the pool might be like for your daughter.

    Have fun!

I booked Caesars for August and i'm also comped. I have never stayed there before because as a TR Gold card holder i never was comped at Caesars.. But for some reason Caesars came calling with a week comped.
From what i have been told, there are two standard rooms........Roman Tower and Forum Tower. Of the two, you definately want to stay in the Forum Tower, that's what i have done for August. They are newly remodeled. I may do the $20 sandwich for the Palace or Octavius Tower. But most people say DO NOT get a Roman room.
From what i understand, the pools are fantastic, among the best in Vegas. You will have lots of choices for the water. Also, i have had dinner at Mesa Grill and it was one of the best meals i've had in Vegas. JMHO. If you previously stayed at Encore and Aria you should be upgraded to the Octavius/Augustus Tower at least.

Augustus is by far my favorite tower. Very close to main check in area. Also has its own check in area right next to the Augustus elevators. And the rooms feel like they are the biggest of any tower also.

One of the nicer pools in Vegas IMO. Can't go wrong with any of your 3 choices. Stayed in Octavious a couple months ago, nice view of the pool area and they are newer rooms.

I would suggest Palace because of the proximity to the pool. If you can move into the Palace Premium, the double bath may come in handy. As for restaurants, I think the food court would come in handy because you have a lot of options to pick from. It's a more upscale take on the mall food court. I also think Payard Bistro may work with a 2 y.o. They have a lot of dishes that are simply prepared and very elegantly presented.

Thanks Guys. I am going to book a Octavious Room with a pool view. It will be a longer walk to the main areas of the Casino, but it looks to be really easy to get to the pool and seems that it might be slightly nicer and a will hopefully be a bit quieter.

Waverunner, I will try out the Mesa Grill. It looks nice and will be a good upscale restaurant. I was thinking Guy Savoy or the Gordon Ramsey at Paris, but think Mesa may be a better fit for a child.

Also, Has anyone tried out the New buffet at Caesars?

I looks really nice and seems to get great reviews. Is there a long line for it, like the Bellagio Buffet or can you get in pretty quickly?

Augustus rooms are biggest, Octavius newest and very convenient to pool. I admire your taste but it is hard to think of a restaurant less suited to a 2 year old than Guy Savoy. Mesa will be fine.

Mesa is somewhat noisy, so that may do better for a 2 yr old. After you walk around there, you will find some options that may fit. For casual dining, the restaurant in a separate bldg by the street is great for little ones.

The buffet has been getting great reviews. And yes, at times there are waits. I think there is a thread about this in the RESTAURANT section.

I think five nights in Vegas with a non gambling wife and a two year old would be a little too long... Has your wife ever been? Have you traveled with your baby for five nights before? That's a lot of work.

I wish you the best and good luck with your trip.

I have traveled with my 2 year old several times, so it shouldn't be a problem. We have had her going since birth and now she is a seasoned traveller. In fact, she has already been to Vegas 3 times prior to this trip and she enjoys looking at all of the unique things Vegas has to see (Fountains, Butterflies at Encore, Volcano at Mirage, Shops at Venetian, Red Rock Canyon, Aquarium at Mandalay, etc).

As for restaurants, the more I look at the Caesars Buffet, the better it seems to be. I saw a large bowl full of blueberries and raspberries at the dessert bar and know my daughter would love to get her hands on those berries :licklips:

I would 100% go with Octavius tower. The elevator dumps you right off at a back door to the pool, with the buffet right past. It is actually not a bad walk to the casino. A little long to the Forum casino, but the other one is right there.

I got that room comped this summer and enjoyed it very much...

Pics from the room. It was a beautiful room and very tranquil. The best part is, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT...you can go to the Laurel VIP checkin and not wait on line with the other folks! Bonus.

Then you should be very pleased with the Octavious tower. When are you going?
