I loved "Heat" with Burt Reynolds. Most people didn't like it for many reasons, but i thought Burt gave a wonderful performance as someone who has a gambling addiction. I loved the scene where the BJ dealer (a friend of his) is begging him to stop, but Burt tells her "i can't". Also, lots of great Vegas backgrounds on the Strip throughout the movie.

The original Ocean's 11 would be a terrible movie if it weren't for the people starring in it.

More recently, Lucky You with Eric Bana was gawd awful. Apparently it had a $55 million budget for a movie with no special effects, acting coaches, or sensible plot. It grossed $8 million.

    Fear and Loathing In LV

Sickening from beginning to end.Except for the Vegas backgrounds.
Showgirls just basically a skin flick.

I'm one of the few people who actually really liked Showgirls. Of course I ws just at the right age to be very excited to see Jessi from Saved BY The Bell naked :D. But I also found her character very believable and not at all unlike some strippers I've known.

I'm probably also in the minority for hating Leaving Las Vegas. That movie is just so freaking depressing! I want my Vegas movies to be fun!

First of all, any age is the right age to see that girl naked (to the poster who said it's just a skin flick... duh.) and I too didn't care much for Leaving Las Vegas. It was a powerful movie with a compelling story to tell, but damn it sure was depressing!

This is one of only a HANDFUL of movies I could NOT finish watching. I know it that it actually garnered some oscar nods and "winner" if I remember correctly. But I just couldn't watch it as it hit too close to home for me.

Ok, since I'm in the company of friends I'll admit.... I think I saw it in the theater twice...hehe

I actually bought that in a budget bin years ago but I've never watched it. I forgot about it having anything to do with Vegas.

Yeah, great watching the old Strip hotels in the late 70's like the Marina, Desert Inn, the Silver Slipper, and the Showboat.

Is anyone else getting tired of CGI? All the movies lately are just cartoons, sure fancy high tech cartoons but cartoons just the same.

I love the movie casino, it was one of my favorites long before ever having been to vegas.

Sad how it all falls apart.

I have been meaning to read the book, I remember seeing the author saying its 99% true where the movie is 80%. Makes me wonder what the 1 percent is
