Is it good? How does it compare to the old one?

Haven't been but here's the web site..

It looks a lot better from the pictures. The place itself looks nicer.. They still call themselves a "dive bar" although it is probably an "upscale" dive bar that charges premiums for drinks as most other places do.

    Going in May!!

My husband and his friend were "crushed" when they closed the IP location. OMG! They were pretty much regulars of the place when they visited LV. So, its definitely on the list of places we are hitting on Saturday night when we go mid-May. I actually liked the more casual vibe of the place...and am secretly looking forward to it too!

    Went this past weekend

Went for a short time this past weekend. It's really nice. They offered free entry but very few people inside. It's very dark and very large and very loud but captured the old feeling. I give it a good rating.

    It was at the IP.

Now it is at the Venetian.

The may be in the same time zone, but after that.... ???

I loved RockHouse at IP so I'm definitely planning on making a visit this week. They have awesome drink specials (by Vegas standards) through the end of the month, so definitely worth a stop.

I'll report back sometime next week.

We stopped in here last week to have a few beers and watch the second half of the OSU – Wichita St. game. While I was not a regular at the old location, I did stop in a few times for a couple drinks. So, I’ll give you my thoughts.

They’ve done a good job keeping the place dive-y. The place looks very similar to the old one. A little nicer and cleaner, but it’s still dark and “dingy-looking” (that is not a comment on the cleanliness of the place). They have a few beer pong tables, a mechanical bull and a cage and stripper poles, should any ladies care to shake their moneymakers. (We were there in the late afternoon, so no such shenanigans were going on at the time.)

Unfortunately, the tire swings from the old joint are gone. I thought those were kinda neat. It was fun to see the sexy waitresses swinging away. One of waitresses I spoke with was upset about this omission too. She said she had told management that they need to bring the swings back and asked me if I’d make a comment to the bar manager about it to help her cause.

They also now serve food. Typical bar stuff – nachos, burgers, wings, etc. So, of course, you can no longer smoke in the bar. It isn’t too big of a deal for smokers though – you can easily walk outside when you need one. And since it’s Vegas, you can bring your drink.

Service was quick and friendly. And they have a happy hour with 2-4-1 domestic draughts and well drinks, I believe. My brother-in-law paid the tab so I can’t comment on prices. (They do serve the beers/drinks in plastic cups though. But hey, it’s a dive bar.)

For the most part, I think folks who enjoyed the old bar at IP will like this one as well. They’ve done a good job of cleaning the place up enough to fit in with its new surroundings. But it has, by no means, been turned into another “high-end” bar at a “high-end” casino.

It's just to the left (as you're looking at Venetian, with your back to LV Blvd.) of that main entrance on the second level. I believe it is only accessible from the outside. So, hang a left just before you enter Venetian and walk 100 feet or so. There was a scantily clad gal out front trying to get folks to come inside when I was there.
