How much do Pit Bosses make?

I was talking to a dealer who said he use to be a pit boss. Long story short, he told me that pit bosses make over 100k at Aria.

How much do Pit bosses make at upper tier casinos (Wynn, Bellagio, etc.)?

first answer comes up $50-75k. it's not like hosts where there's lots in bonuses and tips that aren't publicly disclosed.

 

Remember the stuff about Wynn trying to make dealers share tips with pit bosses? Those articles stated the dealers were making close to 100k and the pit bosses were making around 60k at that casino. So I'd imagine its roughly the same at similar tier casinos.

The more interesting question is how do you feel about pit bosses sharing in dealer tips?

 

I feel like a pit boss needs to make more than a dealer. If not, why would anyone want to be a pit boss? And as a player, I kind of want the pit boss to not suck.

 

As someone who use to work in the casino business, its very common problem. Pit Bosses can end up making less than a dealer, and usually at nicer casinos this is the case. The casino usually has to entice pit personnel some other way like benefits, promotions, and bonuses. Also individuals who use to deal, but cannot anymore due to age, are also inclined to choose a pit position. To be blunt, sometimes it's just people who are lazier. I would imagine the dealers at Bellagio probably make more money than the pit bosses.

To answer the original question I think it ranges from around $15hr-$50hr depending on the property.

 

During my master's degree we had a former casino employee for a major vegas hotel (didn't bother to ask which one). She said Dealers make $60k, pit supervisors make $45k, and pit bosses made $90k. So if you're a dealer you actually take a loss when you get promoted (because of no tips), so the only reason you'd want to be promoted is if you were going career and were looking forward to your promotion AFTER that.
