Parking is free at all the hotels -- don't give them any ideas by asking these kinds of questions!

I have parked at the Wynn/Encore, Mirage, Venetian/Palazzo and Bally's parking garages without being questioned or charged.

One time I was turned away from NYNY since I was not staying there.

I have valeted at several. It is usually simple, but Mandalay turned me away on a weekend, as I was not a guest.

A couple of times I have had to wait a while ( 20-30 minutes ) to get my car out of valet, and I wished I had just parked it in the garage.

If you have not used a casino parking garage in the past, it can be a bit confusing. ( Good luck following the signs at Mirage & Mandalay Bay ).

After all is said & done, if you are unfamiliar with Las Vegas streets ( like, what lane to be in where ), then valet is probably preferable.

    Best wishes!

If you valet park, you also need to navigate Vegas streets and find the right lane for valet parking.

though we drive way less than we used to when in Vegas, we find Valet parking can be a pain - as you have to wait for someone to go get your car. And at times, that can be a wait. And, or course EVERYONE wants a tip.

As to getting into hotels because you are not staying there - here is what some do to handle that. Tell them you are checking in and are staying there.

As noted, the Strip has free parking wired. Are there particular casinos or portions of the Strip you'd like to visit? It can make a difference as to the best way to access/find valet v. self-park, and the relative ease of each (including retrieving your car).

If you want to be somewhere near mid-strip, the Cosmopolitan has the coolest free self-parking garage. There are sensors above each spot and the garage knows how many open spots are on each level. Each spot has a light that is red (occupied) or green (vacant), so it's easy to find an open spot.
