I'm not talking about odds here. There are enough threads about that. I don't play much craps but I get a kick out of seeing guys throwing chips across the table saying things like "horn high YOOOOO". Some guys string together a bunch of those terms and it all greek to me but it sounds pretty badass.

What are some cool sounding bets? I know the odds will be bad but I just want to throw some chips across the table and shout out some funky terminology.

Yeah I know the casino loves guys who make those bets...blah blah..good for them.

I like the fact that a lot of craps bets sound like they belong on George Carlin's Incomplete List of Impolite Words.

Two-way hard eight springs to mind.

First off, since you're usually making them with dollar chips, your house edge is costing you 11 cents...well worth it to call out something cool.

I like 'two way hard 8', but any two way bet will do. 'Two way yoh' is always a winner.

And 'Horn high midnight' is always a favorite (you throw a $5 chip and you get $1 on each of the horn numbers (2, 3, 11, 12) and an extra dollar on midnight (12). If you want to get catchy with that one, you can go 'horn dealer high midnight' which will give you $1 on each and the dealer a $1 midnight.

Lastly, when it's an odd number point sometimes I like to hop the point. So hop the fives (this will need to be a two chip bet, since you're betting on both 2:3 and 1:4.

"Piggyback all the hards 50 and 5"
Player bets $50 each on all the hardways with $5 each for the dealer on top of the player bet so it stays in action if it hits.

One of the most funny calls I have heard was, "Gimme a Viagra Eight for a dollar." I suppose one could just as easily say a Viagra 4, but I wouldn't be bragging about that :wink.

"Nickel Midnight" 5 dollar one roll bet on 12.

"5 dollar Big Red" One roll bet on 7.

"All the hards, two ways" Dollar each on each hardway number for you and the dealers.

"Line bet for the dealers" Passline bet for the dealers.

    My favorite: "Horn, High Yo!!!"

My most hated term: "Seven out...line away..."

    "Any for a penny" - a $1 Any Craps bet (a one-roll bet paying on a 2 3 or 12)

"Dealers on the line, player control" - A dealer bet, but if it wins, the player decides if the dealer gets the win and the original bet, or if the original bet stays in play.

"Dealers got shoes" - Once a point is established with a dealer bet on the line, the shoes is an odds bet for the dealers.

"Make it look like $18" (or any other amount) - usually on Place bets, if you want to press a portion but not all of a win. For example, you have a $12 bet on a 6/8 and you win, you say that when you want to press the bet to $18 (and you would get the rest of your $8 winnings).

Hi/Lo (a bet for 2 and 12) or Hi/Lo/Yo (a bet for 2,11, and 12) always sounded different to me.

Big Red is a hop bet (one roll bet) for any 7 to come up (if you play Pass line, you may only want to do this on the come-out roll).

Can't go wrong with Boxcars (a one roll bet bet for 12) once in a while...

I like to make up my own. How about a, "horny toad and his uncle"? I figure that would be a hard ten and a hard four.

Then there's the James Bond bet if ten is the point.

"I'll take full odds on the ten, 200 on the hardway, the limit on all the numbers, and 250 on the eleven, thank you very much."

This is awesome stuff. Thanks! I didn't even know about hopping any number, I always thought the only way to bet on any number, whether on the next roll or multiple rolls, was to place/buy or bet on one of the prop bets in the center if the number was there.

By the way when you have odds on a come bet and want to keep them on during a come out roll what do you tell the dealer? Last time I kept telling him to "leave my odds on" but it seemed like he didn't know what I was saying...I had to say it 3 or 4 times until he understood. After that first time though he would just ask me anyway. But is telling them to "leave the odds on" the right lingo?

Odds are working, or odds are working on the comeout (if he's slow)

"Let 'em work" or "Keep the odds working" would get the crews attention.

    Thanks guys!

I'm thinking this wouldn't sound as cool when I say "min" instead of "max"
