When I go to Vegas one of my favorite past-times is watching people. It's a great way to past the time between gambling, dining, and going to shows.

I don't go looking for the dark side of human nature, although sometimes that is inevitable; I actually am drawn to people having a good time and enjoying themselves and with others.

Anybody care to share any of their people watching experiences?

Things I've been thinking that would be interesting or fun to talk about are:

    Humorous situations

    Happy, warm, and fuzzy situations

    Drunken antics

    Winning jackpots

Heart warming situations of kindness to others

    Sad, thought-provoking situations

Actually anything within acceptable standards without being excessively mean or demeaning, I guess!

Lately my favorite place to people-watch is the railing right outside of Margaritaville! For a very relaxing 1/2 hour or so just grab a drink and join the others who will be doing likewise. Just watch the various human types who pass by.

Playing "spot the hooker" at the Starlite Lounge and Terrace Bar at the Stardust, and watching the hookers approach obviously unaccompanied males. :)

We were waiting on line at the Harrah's Coffee Shop for an early breakfast in the wee hours some years ago. Security guard and a "suit" walked up escorting a couple who were not looking that great and obviously under the influence. "Suit" says to the hostess something like "anything within reason, charge it to {mumble}" and such.

Decades ago, out back by the "dorm rooms" at the Stardust. 30-ish lady sitting at the curb sobbing with a suitcase. Didn't really know what to do, but a security guard came by in a golf cart, loaded up the bag, and drove away with her. To this day I wonder and hope that it turned out ok. :(

I love people watching too! Most of the situations I have seen are more head-scratchers than heartwarming or humorous.

The lady wearing two floppy sunhats (one of top of the other) at the Monte Carlo pool. Girls in bikinis and Ugg boots at the same place.

The frat boy sitting in the middle of the walkway at Bellagio with a red cup asking for money. I wonder if he lost a bet?

The women who wear dresses so short they end up picking at them all night long to keep from showing their, hopefully, underwear. Outside most club lines.

The drunk guys at Carnaval court who take off their shirts when they dance. Why is it never the guy with the six pack abs?

The sad one to me is the cat with sunglasses by Bill's. He was so still I was sure he was drugged. I hate when animals are used for begging.

I did find the newly married couple having their first dance at Bill's karaoke bar heartwarming. I am gonna miss that casino!

I seen a drunken bum fall flat on his face across from Binions a couple weeks ago. There were 3 guys working around a manhole cover right there and they laughed, dude got up and laughed himself and staggered off.

The best people-watching is downtown or outside of nightclubs on Halloween.

I love watching the cocktail waitresses and also the hot ladies heading out to the clubs. The main walkway in the Palazzo casino is a great spot to do this!

My favorite spot to people watch is on the strip in front of Ballys. When I go theres usually a trailer that sells drinks and has music playing.Theres always people in costume's there along with street performers. You can watch the fountains at Bellagio from there.Lots of people passing by.I have seen some pretty funny things sitting there.

One of the reasons I find Vegas so fascinating is the people watching.

My favorite spot I have found is the BJ tables at the bottom of the escalators leaving Marquee at Cosmo. I am an east coast person and stay on east coast time. So I have my "morning" coffee around 3-4am Vegas time. This is right as the core of Marquee is leaving and the escalator of people leaving empties right at those tables.

Tables are relatively slow so the dealer will play along and nod when someone is ridiculous coming down the escalator. It's just a good time to sit and laugh at "kids these days".

That's one of my favorite spots also. And in front of Mirage i feed the ducks too. A sea of tranquility in the madness of the Strip.

I really love that spot. Last year as I was walking down to Ellis Island,I saw homeless man crawling into the bushes on the side of Bally's with a cat on a leash...to escape from the sun I would guess. I am a huge animal lover and couldn't stop thinking about that cat (and yes,the man who had the cat) I went to the gas station on my way back and looked for some cat food....they didn't have any. I bought 2 big cans of spam (thinking the man could eat as well as the cat) a gallon of water and some other things. Walking back I didn't know if the man would still be there but I couldn't let it go. He was still there....I gave him the bag and the 1st thing he said was She is going to love this thank you so much! I walked away feeling good about helping someone today. A man stopped me and told me he saw what I did.He handed me a 50 dollar bill and told me I should win big for that....I thought about it for a minute and went back to the bushes and handed the man with the cat the 50 dollar bill. The man started to cry and couldn't thank me enough. He said now he could get his cat the shots that she needed. And....the cat was eating a huge helping of spam.
I went back to my favorite people watching spot with a huge grin on my face.

I LOVE watching the young, drunk girls trying to walk in their skirts and stilletto heels.. trying to wobble, hold a drink in 1 hand and pull their skirt down with the other hand, all while trying to stand up straight! LOL I don't think they know there's nothing attractive about that!

Payard's Patisserie and Bistro is a great spot, especially when the pool closes. You see all sorts of things coming from the pool plus people heading off to dinner dressed up and brides wandering about for photo ops from that corner.

And doesn't it seem that they're usually wearing something more appropriate for a someone 20 years younger and 20 pounds lighter?
