Planning on staying at either Flamingo or Harrah's. Is there much construction in front of either of these? How about the walkway where Oshea's used to be?

Thank you. Although I cannot tell much about the strip. It kinda looks like they are not doing anything in the front.

If I walk alot between Harrah's and Flamingo is there any construction there?

Last year when I went there was alot of construction around carnival court and was pretty annoying. Is everything around the front of the two hotels pretty clear now?

There is a covered walkway that extends from the driveway between Flamingo and the Quad and Harrah's. I stayed at the Quad in Nov. and the walk from Flamingo to Harrah's is about the same. However, there is a new entrance to the Quad on the Harrah's side near the Carnival Court that's been completed since i've been there. It's brand new. They are making good progress and yes, there is construction, but the walk is basically the same between Flamingo and Harrah's.
There is a thread with pictures of the new entrance at the Quad in the "Casino Industry & Development" thread.
By the way.........when you click on the LINQ web cam, you can click the magnifier and hone in on all areas of the front from Flamingo to Harrah's. I never liked walking from the Quad past Harrah's to go north on the Strip, i just crossed the street in between Flamingo and the Quad and bypassed the Carnival Court because of the underground parking lot.

The walkway you are talking about. Is that in front of the Quad? So it would be right on the street? Can you walk on sidewalk in front of Quad when you are going from Flamingo to Harrah's without going under walkway?

When i say walkway i mean the construction walkway that goes from the Quad on the south end and all the way around to Carnival Court. The walkway is on the Strip but separate from the construction. The construction is not in the way. The underground parking at Harrah's doesn't affect you walking from the Quad to Harrah's and onward to the north. The underground parking has always been there, just a minor inconvenience to those of us going further north.

I got ya. Still kind of sucks with the construction walkway. A bit ugly. and a little inconvenient. It was nice when you could pop into Oshea's for some beers where that walkway is as it was inviting. Now it will seem like I would want to avoid that area.

It does tend to get bottle necked quite a bit and that is ok with me, however when drunk people get a bit antsy it can get a bit dicey as was the case when I took my mom to Vegas for her B-day in February.

She is 67 and can't walk as fast as she used to and people were being rude. We were staying at The Quad since the comp rooms at Bally's were all filled up and were making our way to Ceasars to catch Rod Stewart on her B-day (her fav). Suggested grabbing a cab over but she wanted to walk which was fine with me but knew it was going to take a little longer so we made sure to leave with a enough time. Had her walk in front of me so she could hold on to me and people we crowding me up like they would when I have my girl in front of me in the pit at a punk show. I could care less but I could tell my moms was gettin' rattled, I told her to take her time, it was all good. Took everything in my being to not pop someone in the face for being rude. Anyway, we made it to the show and she had a great time and those people that were being pushy (not all, but most) you could tell on the faces felt like a bit of an ass when they realized the hold up.

The only other MAJOR complaint I had was the lack of sinage and direction to get to The Quad parking structure since all of the usual entrances were gone. I swear it took me three tries and an extra 15 minutes to find my way in. Can't wait for them to finish all that noise and I will say I am sad that the old divey spots on the strip are all but gone.
