Have you seen changes at the Mirage?

I guess I could say that the Mirage is my home casino. I have stayed there the last five times that I was in Vegas (mainly because they gave us the best offers). The staff has always been friendly, the rooms are pretty, and the restaurant options fit my taste. However, I am hopeful that the new president brings changes to the casino floor. In all my visits the drink service has been moderate at best. And the stools at some of the slots are ridiculously uncomfortable.

So my question to anyone who has been to the Mirage since the new president arrived: What if any changes at the Mirage have you seen?

 

I posted an article a couple of days ago that the new prez is planning some changes to the casino, which is long overdue IMO. Haven't been but I'm hopeful for a fresh look. Sad about Kokomo's though.

 

We were there a couple of weeks ago. Kokomos was boarded up and renovations underway for Tom Colichio's Heritage Steak and the sportsbook had new large screens were all the signs of renos I have seen so far

 

I'd like to see them liven up the casino. During the day it almost seems like the power is out because it is so dark and shadowy.

 

I'd like to see then have some turnover on their BJ dealers. They have to average 60 yrs old and one hand per five minutes. One old woman a couple weeks ago laughed at one of her own jokes and one of her teeth fell out onto the table. And I'm not kidding.

There was one young asian woman who had an amazingly cartoon-like squeaky voice (we called her Gamble-Me-Elmo), but she was even slower... a card every five seconds or so.

Torture.

And yeah, drink service was nonexistent.

 

Having spent the weekend at the Mirage I can now answer my own question. And I have to say that few machines have the stools anymore. We noticed a large section of newer chairs. The casion was hopping on Friday and Saturday evening. Saturday night Mirage was busier than Aria. Drinks at Aria were better. But the drink service at the Mirage was better. Actually better than I have ever seen it in the past even on any day of the week.
There is work being done at the sports book. And of course the boarded up Kokomos is far less than attractive. But change is just a fact of life especially in La's Vegas.
Per the previous post I only wish I would have remembered to take note of the bj dealers. I play just slots.

 

Last September a group of friends and myself stayed at Mirage. I enjoyed it there thought cravings was very good and liked the atmosphere of the casino. Thoughts the slots were decent and kept me playing awhile but the drink service was horrible.

I watched most of the servers heading for multiple breaks and it was really hard to get a drink. When we got back I got a survey so I told them about the poor drink service.

Otherwise I like the place very much and the rest of the service was very good.

 

I want to add another little post. My mother and friends were at Mirage last week and were not happy with them at all. They had the fire alarm go off at 4pm and scared the heck out of them and then again during the day. The staff never told the customers when they could return to the hotel. My mother is handicapped so getting down 20 floors was very hard on her. She warned me about staying there. They also had a hard time with the room charges and getting them waived when they had a $75 credit.

We are going in April again so I should notice a difference from Sept if they are making changes I hope they are for the better.

 

Has anyone found any info on overhaul of the propery is gonna take? I haven't seen anything posted anywhere yet.
I'm hoping to book a room there on my september trip and I can do without 8am jackhamering and dust on the casino floor like I had to deal with at MGM last August.
