Hello from Boston - not good at this but thought I'd introduce myself since the header on the board keeps asking me to. I'm gearing up for my 4th and 5th trips to LAS this Summer. I am very into old Las Vegas and vintage everything! Last trip we went to Frankies tiki room and plan on visiting it on every forthcoming trip. Please tell me if there is any more LV tiki & polynesia (besides the tiki torch slots) that I should visit. Also loved the El Cortez if only for the coin slot payouts and $5 pai gow poker. If there are any more $5 pai gow tables around, please let me know! I play a lot of seven card stud here at Foxwoods. There doesn't seem to be much stud in LAS, but I may try my hand at the Bellagio weekend game, although I imagine it's just 8 old regs. Anyway, hi! :)

Welcome fellow Bostonian! There's not a lot of tiki left in Vegas, and you definitely hit the best spot already... Frankie's is amazing. We also go there every trip. If you take a ride out to Sunset Park (not far from the airport) you can see an original Moai statue from the Aku Aku on an island in the middle of the lake. I would say that Mickie Finnz on Fremont St is sort of tiki-light... They have an outdoor seating area with tiki torches, some tropical drinks and a couple of tiki mugs.
I think you might like the Peppermill Lounge as well, not tiki, but definitely caught in a time warp... Very cool decor with pools of water with fire in the center to sit around and mirrored walls. Waitstaff typically wears full length cocktail gowns... You'll find the place on the strip just before the Riviera heading north.

Hey those all sound great, thanks! I think I have read about the Peppermill & we'll try to hit it. When I can't get tiki, the Goodfellas/Mean Streets bar vibe is 2nd best :)
