I have stayed exclusively at CET properties for the last 5 years. Not big gamblers but we get comped rooms at all the CET properties. Never been to Mirage or really gambled at MGM Properties, but with new resort fees at CET may consider changing. How good are MLife comps as far as free rooms and how does Mirage compare to Caesars? Most MGM casinos are too far south on strip. I like the central location of CET properties. Now that resort fees are at CET, are there any advantages at staying at CET? Thanks!

I don't think that lack of resort fees was ever a major advantage to CET. the advantage is they give away free rooms like water to anybody who puts $10 in a slot machine. but the properties aren't as nice and you'll have a hard time getting anything else from them unless you play really, really big, especially for table players. the Mlife advantage is that the properties are nicer and they give better table games comps, but they have a higher threshold to getting free rooms and other good offers. the disadvantage is their website sucks and their offers are so random nobody ever knows what to expect.

Mirage is not too far south.

Bellagio is not too far south.

MC, Aria just south of mid

    MGM and NYNY getting south.

Excal, Luxor and or course MBay are very south.

    Confused!?

    Mirage

I was inquiring about Mirage, as I have not been there and would stay because it is center strip. Been in Bellagio, nice but not my style. I guess I should have been more clear. Also, shifter, can you explain the better table comps? I've never received a table comp at CET, not a big spender.

You say you are getting comped rooms. Many MLife casinos comp the resort fee when they comp the room. Do you know for sure CET will be charging you the fee when everything is comped?

Lets say CET will cost $20 more/night. Your telling me you could have gone to most MLife properties for $20/night including resort fee? CET is still cheaper isn't it? Only you can determine if the extra you pay to stay at MLife casinos is worth it. It sounds like you don't even like the location anyway, so aren't you stuck with CET no matter how much they charge you?

Center strip has moved quite a bit since Aria/Cosmo opened and everything north of TI was imploded.

Really I consider center strip a little south of what I used to consider center strip a few years ago.

To me its the "center of the action" and probably extends from Caesars to Cosmo, including Bellagio for sure, Ballys and those other dumps on that CET side.

If you are low rolling you'll be pretty frustrated with MGM Resorts Int'l comps. I'd stick with CET and hope they waive the resort fee for comps.

Once again, if you book a CET property BEFORE March 1st there is no resort fee. If you have comped rooms at a CET property and book before March 1st the rooms are resort free and comped. I called and many other have called to verify.

I've been pretty loyal to CET,but I don't wanna pay a resort fee for a comped room.Im a slot player and would think about trying MGM,but I don't wanna deal with their "specialty" slots.

I'll probably stick with Caesars untill the room comps dry up.

Unless you are addicted to the strip, MGM is not always the most logical alternative to CET. For a lower roller, B Connected hotels like Orleans and Gold Coast may be more generous for similar comps to CET than MLife. They don't promise to waive the modest resort fee they charge but they will waive it if you play.

Lets be honest, since the financial collapse, Encore / Wynn has become the new North end of the strip. Circus Circus has become the new Stratosphere , and The STRAT is in no mans land. I myself don't venture past Wynn anymore unless I am going downtown.

I will be staying at Mandalay from the 16th of march so do not know yet about the comps there, but will let you know as soon as I know.
I am not a big player aswell and only play table games so will have to see what will happen with the comps. Will keep you informed.

    CET resort fee

Resort fee will be charged for comped rooms as well. I e-mailed TR customer service and they indicated this was new policy. Mirage may not be center strip but is in the area I like to stay. Numeno, I have never stayed at MLife casinos so I can't say if I like them or not. Also, I have not gambled at MLife casinos and do not even have MLife card. What I want to know is, how difficult is it to get comped rooms at MLife casinos? Is it worth getting a card and gambling at MLife casino while staying at CET property until I build points? Obviously, a discounted room at MLife with resort fee will still be more expensive than a free room at CET with resort fee. However, a free room at MLife with waived resort fee is better than what CET can provide.

nrm02....How do you get comp'd rooms with not being a big spender? I would love to know the process. I am not a big gambler at all (maybe 200-300 for a weekend). I never get any comps at CET properties.

All depends on what sort of gambling budget you have. Coin in, tables played, etc. Rooms are always easier to get at CET.

If you are going to make the switch... go ahead and get free rooms at CET and do all your play at MGM to build up to points, etc.

I use TR card and only play at CET casinos. Also, use TR card to get points when eating, shopping, etc. I was also using the TR Visa and paying balance off. It helps that my wife is TR Companion and plays only slots. We end up having a lot of coin in and minimal losses, sometimes breaking even. We are not inherently lucky, so no jackpots or VP royal flushes for us.

He was referring to comps for table game play. MGM is widely considered to be better at comping table game players particularly at the lower/mid levels than CET. On the flip side, CET is widely considered to be better at comping lower/mid level machine players than MGM.

You mention that your wife plays slots but you still haven't mentioned what you play. It sounds like machines though. You guys are probably better off playing at CET. Don't expect as generous room offers from MGM for light play. That being said, since you're even considering MGM properties you should definitely get an MLife card and throw them a little of your play on your next visit just to see what kinds of offers it triggers.

If you want to know what mLife will give you you'll probably need to give people here more details on the games you play, for how long and at what denomination.

If you want to dip your toes and see what mLife gives you, it may be worth doing for one day. Sign up for the card, do an mLife restaurant, and put in a typical day's gambling, and play the rest of your trip at CET. Probably not enough to kill your CET offers, but enough to at least get a baseline of what mLife thinks of you.

I am a slot player. I won $28,800 on a slot machine at Primm right before my first visit to Las Vegas. I stayed at a MGM casino and hit it hard my first visit. I only steped into a CET property for a buffet (Sterling Brunch) and played a little. I got nothing from MGM but CET gave be alot of offers. I have never got a free room from MGM upfront. I do get Belligio for $99. They have only credited my account when I leave. I would rather have the free room upfront. I guess thats why I seldom stay at MGM property.
