help decide on which hotel to stay@ age21 (mirage aria bellagio or other)

i would just like some help from everyone with opinions on the best hotels on the strip to stay in vegas..

i have looked around and i like mirage aria and bellagio, but i have never been to vegas before so opinions from people who have would be valued.

trying to decide between those three hotels, or if you have any other suggestions..

details:
my bestfriend and I are going to vegas end of april looking for a 7 night stay
we are 21
would like to go clubbing, eat at cool places, have a good pool and possibly hottub
nice room would be cool
entertainment is good
shopping
massages...etc..

suggestions ideas and info would be great thanks

 

All nice hotels in their own way. Other's will probably weigh in but the Aria and Bellagio are more upscale and I would think less people in your age group would choose to stay there. You'll find more of 30 + crowd and people your parents age with money at those hotels. NYNY, Luxor, Planet Hollywood, maybe Mirage probably all better choices for your age group.

 

Cosmo and PH for the young 20 club crowd... can't go wrong either place.

 

Something to keep in mind is not just the fancy places, they all have fancy places to eat.

What you have to factor is are the other things that you need every day. For starters breakfast or some cheap food source.

A cheap breakfast at the places you listed will be about $30 for 2 and thats just bacon and eggs. Then if you need some food court stuff like a burger or something you will also be out of luck.

These things can really add to your bottom line so thats something to consider.

Also factor in that the hotels are next to each other so you can stay at one and party across the street at another with no problems at all. few people stay and play at the same places so its a fairly normal thing to do.

Now think about who you want to be surrounded by like the other guests. Sure, you arent going to hang with them but the pricier the place, generally the older the clientele.

A fancy meal in vegas can be about the same price as a show so I would pick one or the other to do and treat the fancy meal like a show experience.

If it were me i would pick a hotel a bit downstream to save yourselves a few bucks so you have more for booze and partying. Thats another thing that can kill your budget. If you are both 21 then most likley you dont want to sit around waiting fo rthe cocktail waitress to show up but would most likely want a drink when you want it. At the fancy places you pay more for them.

So my choices would be something along the lines of Monte Carlo, planet hollywood, ti or mgm. They have better food choices and are close enough to one another to make them an easy walk for partying. You will save alot of money by going to these places.

Unless you have money to blow just for the heck of it, stick with a lower place hotel. PH is great. Paris, Flamingo, Harrahs are all fine. They are cheaper if you book this week before the implement Resort Fees - $15-$20 a night.

I'm 24, took my first trip at 22.

I'd recommend Cosmo, Mirage, MGM, or PH.

Cosmo is my absolute favorite. Love the balconies and the hotel definitely has that young hip feel.

Mirage and MGM are pretty much the same thing in my eyes, just on different ends of the strip. Both have nice rooms, good pools, and good casinos.

PH has a great vibe for young visitors. Casino definitely has a party vibe at night. But the hotel is nothing special (like most CET hotels). So I'd only stay there if the room isn't that important. And I wouldn't recommend any other CET hotels for younger people at all.

 

Yes, for your age group I would look at Planet Hollywood, or Cosmo. I'm not much for the pool myself but have heard the pool area at The Flamingo is really nice. The Flamingo also has a great location center strip and could save you some $$ on the room, especially for 7 nights. It's about a 10 min walk to the Venetian. The Venetian's club Tao seems to be a big draw for the younger folks. Also within about 10 mins or less you can get to Paris, Planet Hollywood, Bally's, Harrah's The Mirage, TI, Caesar's, Aria is about 15 to 20 mins maybe. The MGM is at the end of the strip. You can get to NYNY, Excaliber(but I wouldn't go, lol) and the Tropicana easily. The Luxor (LAX is their club) and Mandalay Bay might have a shuttle from NYNY or Excaliber, but walking to those places could turn into a little hike. To walk from MGM to PH is about 25 mins I believe. There are several locations called Tickets 4 Tonight. I would check for show tickets there, up to 50% off. They also offer dining options. There is usually a line so I would go early. Also they only offer tickets for that night and have a limited supply so sell outs are common(for shows) the later you wait.

 

I'm 27, and I've taken tons of trips since I was 21 and well, what is your budget here, because that sounds like an EXTREMELY expensive trip. Does it have to be 7 days, because personally, I could never take (or afford) 7 days in Vegas. It's just too much.

I'd look at Mirage, Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood or MGM. All good midlevel hotels. When you get into the 5 stars like Aria and Bellagio everything is 5 star. A massage will be $200, every meal is expensive.. I think you may be better off staying somewhere more reasonable.

Right now, personally I like MGM, it's all remodeled, and they seem to be running the best room deals. The hotel is huge, lots of reasonable options for dining. It's pretty far down the strip, but there is still a lot of places you can walk to. But, Planet Hollywood is a great location. Close to Cosmopolitan and Aria where the newest nightclubs are.

If you really have a high budget, I'd look at Cosmopolitan.

 

M G M - The hotel will have the most people in your age group.

A good place for a person visiting LV for the first time.

i understand its your first time and a 4 star hotel is what you want but look into Royal Resorts just a few steps off the strip located on convention center drive.

Very comfortable and they give you a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker

 

I disagree on this one especially if it first trip as 21 YO.Based on the OPs post it sounds like he knows the prices but maybe not all the other expensive issues associated with staying at high end hotels.
As earlier posters said,PH,MGM,Mirage are all great mid level options with reasonable food options nearby.
Cosmo and Aria are nicer but more expensive although Aria does have a short walk to the MC food court.

 

If money is a non issue, I'd probably go Cosmo. My second choice would probably be Mirage for the pool and being near by the 2 larger shopping centers on the strip.

The pool to me is the critical one since most hotels don't let you in unless you are a guest.


Clubs - No casino is going to be close to all of them if you are there for 7 days.

Spa - I can't say I've heard anything about Cosmo Spa. Qua at Caesars is supposed to be very good. Mirage is right next to it, Cosmo is 1 casino away.


Food - Honestly I wouldn't bother worrying about food in regards to which hotel you stay. A great meat is at most a 10 minute walk away.



You didn't mention gambling so I wasn't sure if you cared. Cosmo is great for the bars, but awful for lower limit gambling.


Cosmo is my choice if you don't mind the $250-$300+/night for the hotel. Mirage would be my second choice at $100-$150/night. Ph also has a great younger crowd, although their pool is somewhat lacking in my opinion. I would still worry more about the pool than anything else if that is a big thing to you. As it is the only thing with restricted access. You can always go into any other club, restaurant, bar, spa, shop, ect...

 

Cosmopolitan, Aria, Bellagio all good choices. I love that area. Also - Aria does have higher end dining but you can easily walk to Monte Carlo (indoor path) for cheap fast food eats and cheaper gambling if you desire. I vote Aria! Can walk to Cosmo easy for Marquee night club, can tram to Bellagio to see the fountains.

PS - I'm 23 and have a blast at the hotels mentioned above, but then again I'm also a big fan of the Wynn, Venetian, MGM Grand, and Mandalay Bay as well. You don't find the party in Vegas, the party finds you.

Aria might be a pretty decent choice. I was surprised at how many young people there were at Aria back in the fall; based on the way MGM is trying to position it, I was expecting the crowd to be more like that at Bellagio, but there were a lot of early-20s California people. They also have a lot of restaurants that have good food but are still reasonably casual (Javier's and Julian Serrano come to mind immediately, and I love the Thai place), and it's connected to Cosmopolitan for their restaurants, clubs, etc. And it's likely to be at least somewhat cheaper than Cosmopolitan, if not significantly so.

EDIT: I just noticed you said end of April. I'd strongly consider MGM Grand or possibly Mandalay Bay if you're at all interested in clubs. I know Mandalay gets a bad rap for being far away, but Light is opening on 26 April, Hakkasan is opening right around then too, and considering the DJs that have been signed to those two places, I'm all but certain they're both going to be a big deal at least when they first open (and I personally think they're going to stick around, but we'll see). Both have pretty fantastic pools and restaurants, too.

 

Why does everyone assume they want a cheap place? They must realize Cosmo and Bellagio are 2 of the more expensive hotels. Cosmo is absolutely ideal for early 20s w money to burn. If they can afford it there is not a better option.

 

For me, it's because I find Cosmopolitan to be intensely overpriced for what it is, even putting aside poor gambling conditions. The rooms are nice, sure, but I just checked the weekend I'm going out in April, and Bellagio and Aria are both an average of $230* or so a night for basic rooms (a nice view is an extra $20 or so a night). Cosmopolitan wants $310 a night for their City Room, and $390 a night for anything with a view. Even if I had "money to burn", I still might not want to just toss it away like that, and while arguably Cosmopolitan rooms might be a little nicer, I don't know if they're worth such a huge premium, especially to someone for whom the room doesn't sound like a huge priority. Unless you're operating on a truly unlimited budget, then it's entirely conceivable that someone might decide they're better served by saving $100 a night for Aria/Bellagio over Cosmopolitan, and spending that money on entertainment/food/drinks/whatever; it's not like we're suggesting the Stratosphere as an alternative.

*That's the rack rate listed on the MLife website, before applying any discounts; my rates are significantly less, and you might be able to find better deals by going to their websites.

 

Why stay at one place for all 7 nights? I would do Cosmo for 4 nights, and Mirage for 3 for the better pools.
