Hello. We are staying in Vegas the last weekend of March. We like to try new places on the strip all the time..we go to LV at least once a year.
This year, it will be our 10 year anniversary, so we'd like to step up
a little from the normal Mandalay, Palazzo, etc.

Right now, I am trying to decide between Cosmo w/ wrap around suite, and a
LOFT at Hotel 32. Has anyone been to both? Any suggestions?

Anything else I might need to know about either of these places?

Is Cosmo going to make me feel out of place? We are still just regular people
who just prefer to more to get more while on vacation.
On a side not, Bellagio makes me feel "out of place".

    Thanks for your time.

Never stayed at Cosmo, but I consider myself a regular person and I stayed in hotel 32 my last trip. It made me feel out of place. It's very nice, but it's separated from the rest of the hotel. When you get in the elevator, you have to put your key in to get it to go to the 32nd floor. Other people in the elevator would ask about that, and for me that's not a comfortable conversation.

When you exit the elevator, there's a concierge desk right there. It's convenient, but it made me feel like people are watching me.

They have a courtesy room that puts out breakfast and fancy snacks at night, and has non alcoholic drinks available all day (and you can use them to stock your in room fridge...they tell you that right up front.) Service is very, very good. You check in right there on the 32nd floor when the bellman takes you up.

But that's another catch...the bellman has to bring you up. I've never had someone carry my bags in my life...just not my thing. But you can't avoid it. You get out of the limo (free with the hotel 32 booking) and the limo driver hands you to the bellman. You can't get to the 32nd floor without him.

The whole experience made me feel a bit weird the entire trip.

The view was fantastic and the room was very, very nice. It's just not for me.

I think that if you feel out of place at Bellagio, you will feel out of place at Cosmopolitan.

I dislike the Bellagio, just for its snootiness. I never really spend much time there for that reason. I have always felt like the people who frequent the place are just a bit more "ritzy" than we are and we like to be around folks similar to ourselves. I dont find those folks much at the Bellagio. As for the Cosmo, we have never stayed there, but we do enjoy playing in the casino. I dont feel too out of place there, other than the fact that it seems a younger crowd frequents the place. We are late 30's so we arent old by any stretch, but there is a big difference between a late thirtys crowd and mid twentys crowd. I used to not think this, but as I have gotten older, it is very apparent.

Whatever you do, just enjoy yourselves and the anniversary, it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks or does, its all about the time you two will be spending together!

I stayed at the wraparound suite in December, its awesome 2 balconies one overlooking the strip and one overlooking the fountains , they give you a special key to get to your floor , the room is great 2 bathrooms , a complete kitchen , a fridge with all your Liq-ours snacks and plenty of space if you buy liquors or water a great assortment of great restaurants and a great disco Marquee, and when done you get a pizza from the secret pizza on the 3rd floor that for me its
the best pizza in vegas, beautiful room , plenty of space and great views.

Stayed in a Cosmo wrap terrace last month

AMAZING. It was DM (68) & me (46). We are from Nebraska & usually stay comped at Ballys or Harrahs--so very "regular" folks. Mom hit the video poker bar each morning & became fast friends with the bartender. We had amazing service at the bar in Comme Ca during happy hour. We LOVED LOVED LOVED the room, especially the balcony--we used it often, day & night.
I always figure if I'm willing to pay the cost, I fit in. Many commented on the young crazy crowd at Cosmo. Didn't notice it at all--we were there Sun-Tues, so perhaps it is more prevalent on the weekends.
If you are comfortable in the Cosmo casino, you will be fine in the room--you won't regret it!
PS My dad now wants to stay there after our raving--and he can be one of those guys who can feel "out of place". But he has stayed at Caesars & been in Cosmo, so guess he knows where he feels comfortable.

Just looked at rates for our June trip

Hotel 32 similarly priced to Cosmo terrace room. (not wrap)
I'll admit, limo & free snacks/sodas is nice, BUT it doesn't match that balcony!!

At Hotel 32 once you leave the confines of the upper floor rooms you are still in the Monte Carlo. It does not srack up well against tyhe other places you have stayed.
If it's between the two I would choose Cosmo.
I would actually reccomend Aria where you could splurge on a corner suite.
You could really go top notch with the SkySuites there.
Except for the terrace, better than Cosmo.

These two properties are not comparable. That said, if you feel out of place at Bellagio (strange IMO), you'll be better served at MC.

Bellagio is not the type of place you should feel out of place, it's one of the biggest tourist gawking spots in Vegas.

Thanks for all the input! I guess what I mean about Bellagio
is just what Iu25 said. The snootiness. I just don't need to deal with
    the attitude on vacation.

I am a little concerned about the service at Cosmopolitan, from some reviews
I have read. I have actually even called them to ask questions. They actually told me that although I pay a deposit for my first night room, my actual room type is not guaranteed. What the heck is with that?

I have ruled out Hotel 32 at this point. Although I was mostly looking forward to that Chromo-shower in the LOFT.

Now I am intrigued about a corner suite at Aria...

What any of you had any bad experiences at Cosmo?

    Thanks all.

Not sure why Aria is better...

The terrace was a major draw of the Cosmo suite.
The Cosmo suite is larger;the rooms look similar in decor, but the Aria is missing the big thing...the terrace.
We used that terrace day & night. One night I awoke, pulled on the robe & sat out on the terrace for half an hour--in January! AMAZING.

I'm a fan of The Cosmopolitan, but judging by your comments it's not for you.

I know what you mean by feeling out of place at some hotels. That is something that I think about as well.

I am in my 40's, and am older than most of the crowd @ Cosmo. About the only time I've felt "out of place" was when I was standing in line to check in with the mostly much younger crowd. Other than that, I never even thought about it. Not an issue in any of the restaurants I went to there. I did notice that there's sometimes a slightly older crowd than normal in those, likely because of convention business.

I feel like Aria is a very nice hotel that is less "snooty" than Bellagio. The dealers are very nice and friendly at Aria - I stayed at a corner suite and the view was breathtaking.

You may want to take a good look at Vdara. In my opinion, one of the best kept secrets on the Strip. A Panoramic suite is incredible. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, etc...very quiet and a quick walk to Aria or the B. The value is unbeatable.

Now I think the balcony is over rated. Don't get me wrong, for a romantic weekend getway on a warm day very nice. But those damn fountains go off till midnight. Then you have the crowd at cosmo who are there for Marquee and the Daypool scene. You have the drunk aholes coming down the hallways at 3 or 4 am, or out parting on there balconies.

If I was in my twenties I would love the Cosmo, but on the weekends its just a nicer version of Planet Hollywood with the customers they draw.

Wynn and Bellagio are too pretentious for my taste. I always felt like I wasn't spending enough to get the service level I expect. So even though the Cosmo is a slightly nicer product in my opinion, it loses points for a weekend stay, especially once the pool season opens. If your in the 30 and over crowd and married, I would pick Hotel 32, unless your going during the week.

I agree totally with this statement. I stayed in a corner suite last year and was super impressed. The value always seems to be there. I'm always getting email from them with ridiculous deals. Last month I had an email from them for $130 corner suites including some weekends. I'd take that any day for a suite in Vegas.

I have stayed at both places. Hotel 32 is the top floor of the Monte Carlo which is a budget hotel in Vegas so you will notice the crowd on the casino floor. It does have free limo rides to and from the airport(not including driver tip). The service is great when arriving. A host greets you at the limo and brings you directly to your room and helps you check in right in your room. No standing in line to check in like other guests. Hotel 32 also has a lounge with free snacks and continental breakfast.

The Cosmo on the other hand is the newest casino in Vegas and also very big for nightlife with the Marquee nightclub. I don't like check in because lines can get really long in the afternoon. I stayed in a wraparound suite which was gorgeous with 2 outdoor balconies on the Strip. I would ask for a suite facing the Bellagio fountains. Cosmo is just a short walk to Bellagio and right across from Planet Hollywood.

I would definitely pick Cosmo if this is your anniversary since it is one of the top hotels in Vegas and better than the Monte Carlo.

I'm going to Cosmo this week, Monday through Thursday. I'm 36 and my old man is coming along with me. During the week, will we feel out of place? Either way...No changing things now.

40.5 year old, decidedly uncool IT nerd here, and while I haven't stayed @ Cosmo, I've gambled and eaten there many times in the past year.

I've never felt out of place there, and the staff has always been exceptionally friendly. The "younger" crowd there is sometimes pretty amusing to someone with my midwestern sensibilities, so I rather enjoy being there. Not sure if I'd really fit in at their pool party scene, but from what I understand, they've got several pools to accommodate both the dayclub, and more sedate crowds.

+1 on Aria, or Vdara as an alternative choice. Also, you can easily get the bus and head downtown for your drinking+gambling, if you want to hang with a more middle class crowd, while still staying and eating on the Strip.
