Got an email with a survey the other night about gambling in Toronto. Started off with the standard questions asking which casinos / slots in southern Ontario I've visited and when. Then it asked a bunch of questions about downtown Toronto and the area around the Metro Convention Centre which makes sense as CET released artwork of what a the entrance of a casino there could look like a few months ago. What I found interesting was that they also asked similar questions about Markham, Richmond Hill and Vaughan. I guess they're looking at building up in York if Toronto says no a casino. Markham shouldn't really be a surprise and makes sense given the high percentage of Chinese residents. I'll be honest though I just can't see any of those communities saying yes, especially Richmond Hill.

The fifth area they asked about and the one that I made sure to skew my answers in favour of was Exhibition Place.

Anyone else living in southern Ontario get this survey?

I have no idea where they would put something of that size around here.
Any existing empty land, of which there is little to none, is marked for residential and commercial development already. And our existing municipal infrastructure is beyond horrible, so adding an influx of constant visitors would be a nightmare, both for them and for residents.

I'm all for a casino, but not in the current format in which casinos are run in Ontario.

Maybe they think the rumour of Wonderland moving to Niagara is still true! Yeah I have no idea where in Vaughan they can put it unless it's up closer to King City. The logical place would be 400/7 but like you said there's no room.

Nope, I haven't gotten the survey. I knew about Convention Centre and Exhibition place, but not the other proposed destinations.

    CET Survey

Got the survey the other day and filled it out. I also said the best place to put the casino would be at or near the Convention Centre and the worst location would be Exhibition Place.
I believe that Toronto Council in the end will agree to a Casino the issuse will be where to put it in Toronto.
If MGM gets the bid I will consider changing for a CET member to MGM/MyLife.

Take care and good luck will follow..........

I got this as well. We spend most of gambling time at Seneca Niagara with the odd Casino Niagara and Fallsview thrown in. I would like to see Ceasars come here as we spend some weekends at Windsor just to keep our rewards for our trips to Vegas.
I went on a motorcycle trip to New Orleans a few years back and stayed at comped Harrahs properties all the way down. Windsor, Elizabeth, Tunica, New Orleans and back.
