and was told I could not be given any F&B because I used a My Vegas Comp for the High Tea. I am Noir and I was insulted by the reply. The Host was not mine, but I thought it was the worst excuse of Bull Shit I have ever heard!

I was comped my usual 3 nights, and my play was fair. I played 3 line Dollar reel slots,7 hours per day. My 5K was what I lost. I am sure my THEO was higher. Was I wrong to ask for a lousy $100 for food?
My express comps earned was $150. I used to earn around $350 on the old scale for the same play.

I think that is a bit ridiculous. I also sent an email to my host regarding my vegas. They told me it was completely seperate and If i show up and don't stay there that it won't impact my comps for the future. I am much lower than you and only gold. She also told me if I spend my express comps it won't impact me either. I am worried that myvegas could impact loyal players.
    Response from my host
MyVegas is completely different you can redeem and don’t have to play your normal amounts it does not affect your comps. If you are not staying at our properties you can redeem and will not affect your Mlife account. If you stay with our properties with an offer you can also redeem myvegas but keep in mind you have to play up to your offer. No your wife does not affect you status on your account but if you wish we can remove her.

I don't understand this... how would the two be associated? How would the MLife people know you used a MyVegas coupon?

Also you aren't really clear: you say you asked for $100 for food... was that to cover your High Tea (either some or all of it?) because if that was the case then the host was correct. The same way they can't comp your stay if you booked your hotel through Expedia, they can't cover the bill if it was paid for through a third party.

When you claim a MyVegas award, they require you to have an MLife card. They enter the reward into the MLife system under your card. If you are a loyal player, I would think these MyVegas rewards will adversely affect your future offers if you don't play up to your level the day you use the reward. As for hosts at MGM, most I have met are very nice people. But, MGM is so screwed up right now that I don't think many of the hosts actually know what is going on...from calculating EC's to MyVegas rewards showing as a "stay" or not.

I used the My Vegas award for the High tea. I had a $350 bill for other dinners. I felt my play would justify asking for a little help of $100 towards the bill. This host stated that the My Vegas comp counted towards my comps and that no F&B could be applied. I have stayed at the Bellagio 10 months per year, 5 years in a row. I don't ever pay for my rooms, yet I have never been given any F&B. Not a lousy $100 for all that I gamble and the 50 times I have been there in the last five years. What the hell does a free My Vegas comp have to do with my play? I am Noir and I know others play more, but I think I know the routine being at the Bellagio for all this time. By the way, I am not exaggerating about the 50 trips....It is what we do.

I agree. I have list below comps between my wife and me on myvegas. We are staying at Cosmo. I am worried if I use the below comps we will get screwed for future visits. I also am worried about using express comps and not gambling. The answer I posted is from my host at Bellagio

    2 tickets to Zarkana
    2 buffets at bellagio

1 dinner at Tenders at Luxor
    50 food credit Monte Carlo

There are two kinds of Mlife customers:

#1 Those who have been screwed.
#2 Those who are about to get screwed.

Shit, I just wish there were a derivative investment I could have bought 6 months ago when I started railing against mLife and got my ass FLAMED to a crisp on this board.

"Oh that BeeeJay must be a whiny pussy with ulterior motives"
"Oh that BeeeJay doesn't understand comps"
"Oh that BeeeJay is like today's youth with their sense of entitlement"

Now here we are 6 months later. Dozens upon dozens of the boards most respected, experienced, comp-savvy members from Natedog to Evoni have echoed my original sentiments.

Sweet vindication baby. Now give me my Cosmo balcony so I can piss in that big 7-acre urinal to the north!

The excuse is ridiculous and it certainly seems like that level of play would warrant some food comped beyond express comps. But if you lose on slots, your actual loss is almost always higher than your theoretical loss since you have not hit a jackpot.

Counting MyVegas rewards as comps? :kill:

Still.. this might be the "better" rewards system they were talking about with the oct 1st changes... get us free spam to your friends, use your free time to "play/pay" for the rewards. Then come over here and play some more. don't need to think about silly comps, you already got them... :Þ

Niceguy you are getting treated like garbage by your host. Slot players like you are generally treated pretty well so I don't understand what's going on in your situation.

I just read a couple of your old posts and you also wrote you've been sending your Bellagio host gifts for 4 years and they never even sent you a thank you. SWITCH HOSTS! Why the hell are you sending such a bad host gifts in the first place???

I'm not saying you should be given the keys to the castle -- but playing dollar slots for max coin several hours a day should definitely get you more than just a room comp. That MyVegas excuse is just a slap in the face and defies logic. What the hell does redeeming something you earned on MyVegas have to do with your comps earned from real gambling??

At CET or Wynn (can't speak for V/P) you would be treated much much better. Slot players are the casinos bread n butter and playing 3 bucks a spin for 7 hours a day is probably higher than the average slot player.

    Once again -- SWITCH HOSTS!

This one seems pretty simple. You're getting all your free stuff at MGM properties...you're staying at a non-MGM property. So just put your play in at Cosmo and don't swipe your card at MGM. Then, other than the food poisoning you're going to get from the Luxor you should be good.

I've come out a few times in favor of sending gifts to a host. If I had one that didn't send at least an email with a thank-you, I'd 100% reverse my previously stated position.

Call me crazy but 5k doesnt seem to be that much money in vegas.

I have seen people drop that much per hand on cards without batting an eye.

You already got a free room.

Maybe I dont understand because i am not noir.

You're not crazy $5000 isn't a lot of money but its a decent amount. More importantly he plays 7 hours a day of dollar slots -- that kind of play should get more then just a free room with no f&b credit. Add to that the OP goes almost every month and seems to get relatively little in comps and it is really bad. Maybe there's more we don't know. Total coin-in would be a better way to look at it instead of hours per day at slots. Though since he's Noir his coin-in cant be shabby.

By the way the people who drop $5000 per hand at cards are getting way more than just a free room or even just full RFB so you can't compare the two.

Agree with others--switch hosts. Or do what we did (we also go 10X per year and play slots/vp) and switch to a different casino. We alternate between Aria and Wynn and both our Aria and Wynn hosts know it. There's just something about knowing they each have some competition that ensures our $150K of coin in each trip (admittedly not that much) gets us RFL min and always a limo from the airport.

Our experiences with Bellagio were similar to yours--we loved the hotel, but frankly we got tired of being treated like crap. Bellagio doesn't really need the gamblers, IMHO. They get so much foot traffic in there on a daily basis and many, many people willing to pay full rack rate for their rooms and everything else.

Considering the return, that $5k was likely a couple hundred thousand of coin in, if not more.

That kind of action at CET in one trip will give you a lot of offers. Shoot my last trip I took about $1500 to lose for a couple days along with $500 of slot play on them and I get offers for $300 food and beverage as a lowly platinum member that goes once a year. CET might not be for you, but i would suspect you can get offers at wynncore or venetian/palazzo. Point is I would book with them next trip and then go play in other places.

not really. $150 in ECs is only about 2500-3k in theo, which is around 30k in coin-in max. that doesn't get you very much other than a free room and your ECs to use on your F&B.

The OP said he earned $150 in ECs. That reel slot he played is probably not a specialty slot so if I'm not mistaken the EC earning rate would be 1c per $3 coin-in.

    So $150 EC = (150/.01) * 3 = 45k coin-in.

I googled LV slot stats and $1 on the strip averages about 95% payback. Lets even say 6% HA.

    Theo = 45k * 6% = 2700

    comps at 30% = $810.

So yeah 810 in comps should cover more than just a basic room for 3 nights...especially since the OP just asked for $100 toward dining credit. But at a place like Bellagio its not a given that it will cover as much as some may think.

Without doubt though your host sounds like a ******.
