On January 1st, MSS made more work for their staff. When you win a scratch card for a quad or better, the staff have to fill in more details and have you scratch it in front of them. This slows them down (their hands must get tired) and you can't believe how long it takes some people to scratch a card.

I asked one worker for the reason and she hadn't been told. I'm guessing there must have been some fraud.

If this new policy has changed in the last couple of weeks, I'd like to know.

Also when you take your winners to the cashier, you should do it right away. Like anyone is going to jump off their VP machine to run to the cashier. They have to sign their full name on the back of each card.

From experience, I do know to cash them in within the 24 hours, otherwise they won't be honoured.

Also, if you play multi line VP, you can't earn a scratch card if you're not playing all the lines. Sometimes I play max credits but only play 6 or 7 lines.

Overall these cards are a loss leader for MSS, because you waste valuable gambling time waiting for your $2 card. Ok, $3 on a good day.

I'm sure they'd like to find a way to get rid of them.

are those cards only available if you are playing at the bar? I know I have read this before but cant remember! Will definitely be stopping in for a few cold ones at the boars head in a month and a half!

Nope, any VP machine with Player's card inserted and max coin play. They have one set of cards for quarter play and higher. A different set for penny & nickel play.

They were still doing this a week ago when I was playing at the Boar's Head bar.

I noticed this a couple weeks ago. I got 5 scratch cards in less than 2 hours. Too bad I was playing Duces Wild. Still a winner, but would have been better if playing something else.

Thanks for the info. Don't like it, but guess we have to live by their rules.

If they wanted to get rid of them, wouldn't they just do so? It's not like they have some sort of contractual obligation to provide them...

most of em are 2 bucks, you have to go to the players club to redeem. What's not to like? Another added incentive! Try the Triple 7 foe a steak dinner. You might not gety a 241 coupon, but the steaks are great for the prices.

I had the New York and it wuz gooooood!

correction Feb 14 You must go to the cage to cash them in, much faster but you'll need to have your card in the machine when you get the 4 of a kind.

We were just at MSS last week, and there are only TWO changes ... the floor attendant will ask you to do the scratch-off in front of him/her, and they will also ask you to play off the quad, so it can't be used a second time.

The cards are still redeemd at the cashier (not the player's club), and can be redeemed at any time during that day ... and I NEVER had to sign any of my many scratch cards.
