I'm making a trip to Wynncore this summer and am trying to decide which tower to stay at. I've stayed at Encore before and loved it, although the walk to Wynn felt like it got longer and longer. Anyone have updated pictures of the rennovated rooms at Wynn?

Just go to oyster.com and search for the Wynn and you can see pictures of the room taken by guests. The updated rooms are nice, and they're much brighter than the Encore rooms, but there isn't a "separate" seating area like the Encore rooms. Other than that they're pretty similar to each other (bathrooms, etc.).

I actually prefer the Encore rooms myself, although like you, the journey between Encore and Wynn can get a bit annoying, since I do the majority of my gaming on the Wynn side of the property. If that's really a big issue for you I would book the Wynn room, if not stick with Encore. In reality, you can't go wrong with either room.

^ Very true, that's why it is so hard to decide what to book. I gamble mostly at Wynn if I'm in that area as well as Venetian, so I may go with Wynn to shorten those walking distances.

I usually prefer Encore. The renovated rooms at Wynn are beautiful – I like them much better than the “old” ones. But there’s just something about the Encore rooms that feels more comfortable to me and I can never really put my finger on it.

I also like the quiet and relative calm at Encore. If you really want to get away from everything for a while, you can actually do that at Encore.

That said, like you two, I like the Wynn casino much better and will often choose Wynn simply for the convenience of not having to walk all that way at four in the morning to get to my room.

If you want some of the peace and quiet that you can’t usually get at Wynn (as easily as you can at Encore, that is), but with a better location than Encore, you could look into the Tower Rooms/Suites at Wynn. They’re usually about $50-75/night more. But you do get a free breakfast and there is no resort fee. So the difference is less than it appears.

But, as stackinchips mentioned, you can’t really go wrong with wither place.

I may ask how much the upgrade would be when we go to check in. It is booked as a Southwest vacation package. 4 nights in May starting on a Saturday, in a Wynn "Panoramic Double" for $1,400 for 2 plane tickets (out of West Texas)/hotel/tax. Not bad.

That's actually the old rooms. I checked after I posted that. Here is what the new rooms look like:

Encore's casino does seem a little more intimate, which is why I like it so much. Nicest hotel property I have ever stayed in.

Always done the wynn, so figured we'd try the encore this next trip. I'm in reasonably good shape so thinking the walk won't be too bad....

I liked the walk. When I finished playing poker at The Wynn I would walk to Encore and grab one drink for the road and play VP. It's relaxing to me.

Stayed at both and I really like the Encore especially the casino is more quiet and the night shift baccarat staff knows me waaaay too well. Plus the waitresses/servers actually had me stop and payed attention for once other than the bac tables. And yet I somewhat prefer the Wynn rooms even though they are smaller. This is because I find the temperature control is not as good as the Wynn and the Encore property have too many big mirrors which I find annoying since it creates an illusion that you have a bigger room. I would stay at the property if I get my usual discount of some $100 a night but I wouldn't pay full to stay there though.

Your going to love the panoramic room. We stayed there last year. It was the panoramic suite on the 59th floor. I forgot the room number, but it was the corner room on the north east of the building. Here are some pics I dug up.
