I would like to get some opinions on the PH Hollywood Hip King room vs a Forum Tower Deluxe King. I have the PH room booked for March 31st thru April 3rd with all 3 nights comped. While checking the total rewards website I noticed that I could get the Forum Tower Deluxe King comped all three nights also. I have never stayed at either property & I am a 52 year old single guy.

    Stayed at both.

PH, young and hip, probably best location on the strip for freshest entertainment and activity. Casino always hoppin, pleasure pit a feast for the eyes.

Caesars, long walks to and from anywhere. Takes forever to walk to strip. Older more reserved crowd, not a yound hip vibe at all.

I would throw in that a lot of groups of guys in their late 20s-mid 30s tend to stay at Caesars for party type trips. That's why 2 queen rooms are always so much more than the king rooms there. Sometimes Roman tower 2 queen is more than most of the other towers in a standard king room.

I have also stayed in both, albeit a Resort Room in PH and an Augustus Tower Room in Caesars. As others have already and will continue to mention, it all comes down to the atmosphere you desire. To me, Caesars Palace is more "luxurious"; the flagship property of the CET family. However, it does attract an older, generally less "exuberant" crowd. When I stayed at PH I was with a few buddies, and we had a blast. The vibe is much younger and party-like.

In terms of the rooms, I much preferred Caesars. As you probably know, the Augustus Tower is considered an upgrade from the Forum Tower, but I have heard those rooms are really nice too. If you do happen to desire an upgrade to Augustus/Octavius, I would suggest checking in at the desk dedicated to those towers and I would venture to guess you'd have a pretty good chance. That's what I did (I was booked in a Forum Tower room). At PH, the rooms/hallways just seemed a bit more run-down to me.

Bottom-line, you can't go wrong either way. They're both nice properties and I enjoyed my stay in each.

They are both pretty nice rooms. Pretty updated, flat screens, etc.

    Some notable differences:

Forum tower room has no tub, just a very big standing shower. Hollywood Hip has tub and separate shower.

Caesars has WAY nicer pools (only really relevant April-October)

Caesars is a bigger, more sprawling property and a bit tougher to get around.

For me, I'd pick Caesars in pool season, and PH in the winter. But they are close enough that it could come down to which location you prefer.

How much do you gamble? The gambling conditions at Caesars are better than PH -- at least Caesars offers a lot more of the better odds tables and machines. Since you're 52 years old and traveling solo I think Caesars is a much better choice. It's much nicer and offers a bit of everything. More importantly the crowd is more mixed. PH is geared more toward the young fraternity type crowd and more value oriented people. Since both are comped I think it's an easy choice to go with Caesars -- the nicer flagship property.

I have stayed at both hotels. My room in Caesars was in the Palace Tower though. It was a superb room to Planet Hollywood Hip Rooms, but I prefer to stay at Planet Hollywood. Caesars is laid out poorly with a ton of walking. I mean it felt like half a mile to get from my room to the casino. It is also much further to get out onto the strip. However, if you are just staying at one property and not adventuring, Caesars is a nice place to stay. I think either is a win for you.

Thanks everyone for the info. My main concern at Caesars was if the Forum tower was one of the nice ones. I have heard that one tower (I am guessing the Roman based on the information provided here) is not as nice and is getting pretty dated. I think I will probably switch. Once again much thanks for all of the help.

Yes Roman is the bad one. Forum is fine.

I couldn't disagree more. You're the first person I think I've ever heard say Caesars is a party spot for late 20 year olds. I'm in that age group and all my friends and I prefer PH way more than Caesars.

I didn't mean it as a party spot. Like a place people go for big group birthday or bachelor type trips.

Caesars isnt bad. It seems to have a hotter club scene than PHo, but the casino in PHo has a better vibe. You get the hangover newbies too that choose Caesars over PHo. I am 36 and much prefer PHo though.

They both have a lot of young people but Caesars is very mixed with a lot of all ages. Their is a cost issue too -- the young crowd at PHo is more of the casual lower budget fraternity/college type while at Caesars the young crowd is more of the bottle service ultra lounge type dropping bigger bucks. Both have their scenes -- Caesars just has multiple types of scenes while PHo is smaller and more uniform in terms of vibe and clientele. Just my opinion having only stayed and played at Caesars multiple times but spending considerable hours at PHo during one trip when the other couple in our party was staying there.

Really? My info may be dated , and maybe it depends what you mean by gambling conditions. I am a craps player and I do not think I ever saw a $10 tables at Ceasars - always $15 minimums. Planet Ho seems to have $10 readily available.

Hands down Forum King is much nicer room. The PHo rooms and common areas are showing wear a couple years into the remodel. Even when they did the Aladdin conversion they did not do a fully remodel on the rooms.

Examples of stuff I found over the last few visits

    - Broken Shades and cracked wall plates
    - Non functional lamps
    - Dirty bedding
    - stained carpet, marred up elevator doors, etc

The young drunk factor is very high on weekends, in fact you can't avoid it at the gaming tables. Not that I don't mind people having a good time, but there it was more like people spilling booze on you, slured speech, obnoxious behavior at the tables where security had to get involved or slowed down play, etc

On the plus side, I think the gaming at PHo non friday & sat nights nd access to Cosmo is a plus. If room is your deceiding factor, then Caesars is the way to go hands down. If you are frugual minded then PHo has less costly dining options and access.
