I plan no pass. Max odds. does it make sense to only bet after someone makes a point reasoning that the chance of them making two points in a row is unlikely?

It makes no mathematical sense. It may make sense if you're superstitious. The odds on the second point are exactly the same as the odds on the first.

I agree with the other poster. That's the same reasoning in roulette, if the wheel encountered 5 straight red numbers would you bet the next one black? Odds of hitting red or black on the next roll are the same.

    D is for DON"T

    No, he'll shoot a 7 FOR SURE!

On the don't pass you'd be crazy to bet the don't pass line after the come out roll.

If you make the come out roll the advantage shifts to the player big time, that's why you aren't allowed to take your bets down after the pass line come out roll, but if you want to remove your wager after the the come out roll on the don't pass line then the casino will have you be there guest, or their sucker. Either way the best advantage you have is after the come out roll on the don't, provided the shooter, (you or whom ever) has made a point and not rolled a 7.

So, get those don't pass bets down and learn how to pray.

Now, once you have established a point of course you'll have to LAY those odds, the better your chances the higher the stake, on a 4 or 10 you'll have to lay double the odds, lay 10 to get 5 back and so on ,3 to 2 on the 5 or 9 and 6 to 5 on the 6 or 8, the most likely to hit other than the 7. But, the odds are in your favor, as the 7 comes more often than any other number, so you are more likely to win!

I know it goes against the grain but I like to put up a hard way bet on the 6 or 8 if I'm laying those numbers, but I don't play to win big, just to have a good time and some times I do hit big and sometimes I don't but I always have a blast and get trashed.

Hell, how drunk do you have to be to be thrown out of the worst casinos in Las Vegas? Been there, done that! Depends on if you're winning.

One don't pass bet with at least double lay odds, followed up by two don't come bets. Best numbers are the 4 and 10, followed by the 5 and 9, then 8 and 6.

    Don't forget to tip.

Last time I played I was tipping a bunch of two way hard way bets and the dealers kept shoving me money. I must have made the a bundle. I know I won, I just wish I could remember it.

This one jerk kept saying something to me when I'd bet the don't pass while he was shooting the pass line.

I finally told had to tell him to shut up. The dealers agreed.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean, but after the come-out and a point is established, it is perfectly sensible to bet the 'don't pass' (what you actually do is bet 'Don't Come'), and the number rolled will the the number you are rooting against.

Many Don't players skip the come-out roll and just bet Don't Come (perhaps many times) so they aren't 'rooting against' the same number as the the rest of the table is rooting for.

The rest of BJ's post was AOK regarding the Don'ts.

When playing the dark side I have been far better off laying the point after the come out roll and paying the vig rather than betting the don't pass especially with odds. The numbers are heavily against you on the come out roll because there are 8 ways to make a 7 or 11 and 4 ways to make a 2,3, or 12. 8 ways to lose 4 ways to win= not good. If the table is cold (no one making a point) lay the point after the come out roll. If points are being hit change your strategy to fit the table action. If you predetermine the side your gonna bet your only playing half the game . Let the table tell you which side to bet.

By waiting to bet on the Dont Pass after a shooter makes a point , the only thing you are doing is extending your playing time at the table, since you will not lose your buyin as fast as you would had you been betting from the beginning of a shooter`s hand.
