I get free offers from Caesars Props a lot. I finally have a week off, my first full week in about two years. I want to get back to Vegas and was offered 5 free nights at Harrah's. I do also have an offer for the Flamingo Fab Luxury Strip View room for $51.

Which deal would you take? I'm kinda leaning towards Harrah's because Ive always enjoyed the casino and sports book. How are the rooms at Harrah's?

They're fine. As long as your expectations aren't super high you won't be disappointed. I would put their rooms on par with a nice Holiday Inn or something along those lines. The rooms are a little small, but they're clean and comfortable. By Vegas standards Harrah's is a very average hotel, but outside of Vegas you would consider it a nice but not great property. If you're just looking for a place to lay your head at night it will do the trick.

I've stayed at Harrah's multiple times and have always enjoyed it. It's not super hip, but its clean and comfortable land well located. My 21 year old nephew loved Toby Keith's for drinks on a Sat night, and we (40's) enjoyed it too.

I get COMPS to all the Mid-Tier properties, so I have pretty much hit them all. I have to stay out of Ballys, Flamingo and Harrah's, I thought Harrah's had the nicest standard room. I just don't enjoy the Casino, I love Toby Keiths, Carnival Court and was a big fan of the now closed Range.

Harrah's is the only CET property that insisted on banging us for an early check in fee, Ballys, Flamingo, PH and even Caesars did not do that.

Again, let me suggest you try booking online using the rate calendar, and NOT just offers. You might find an even better deal.

    Check that out first.

How is the rate calendar going to have a better rate than FREE for 5 nights?

It might have a better hotel - for free.
It might have better dates - for free.
It might have better level of rooms - for free.

The real point was to let folks know they have other deals besides the offers. Seems like every few days another person comes along and only plans around their "offers". That's all.

I am not a High Roller by any means, but got 5 nights Sun-Fri comped at Caesars for June by checking rate calendar.

Actually, I am planning around the vacation days I was allotted for this year. I am going by what was available on the only week of the year I can go. I'm just wondering what the place is like to stay at.

My last stay was at Bally's and I was quite fine with that trip. I've stayed at PH and Paris before that. Those were great, but I am no means a hotel snob. I'm not booking anything until I get closer to the dates, but as of right now, I don't think it's a bad deal to stay at Harrah's for free and enjoy the rest of the casinos as well.

Last stayed there 3 years ago. It looked like a remodeled room in the Carnival Tower. It was away from Carnival Court, but the soundproofing is poor overall. For 5 nights free you can't go wrong.

Well with Flamingo you are ever so slightly close to the center of the strip by ballys. I'm coming at this front a strip walker stance. I would take Flamingo just because you get a better view and you are right there by ballys and bellagio. I've stayed at Harrahs and my view was basically of the Mirage. My opinon really doesn't matter on this unless you are a compulsive casino hopper like myself though. I

So those are the pros of Harrah's. I feel the pros of the Flamingo are:
    Pool
Outdoor area in back. We got coffee in the morning and relaxed outside at Carlos n' Charlies
    Location
    Fab Luxury Strip View

So the question is, depending on what you want to do in your non-gambling time, is $51 worth it?

Harrahs is a great place to stay. It was my go to destination last year because I got my rooms comped once or twice and when I arrived late around 10pm flying straight from work, I was automatically comped to a nice suite where the WiFi was spotty but free. KGBs has pretty good food and service is above par. Didn't try the buffet though so can't say much. Always stayed at the Mardi Gras tower since I want quiet.

I was heading to Vegas by myself last year so I didn't need anything fancy at all. Just wanted to be near "cheap" places to eat, situated at the middle of the Strip, and near the Wynncore to play baccarat. A major plus is that they have an actual stop spot for Executive Shuttle. Instead of paying some $30 to $40 for a cab to and from the airport I just pay $14 total.

I actually like the Harrah's buffet. I have never had a problem with it. To me it seems to have more 'normal' food.

I have stayed at all the casino's. I think the rooms at Harrah's are nice. I think they have comfortable beds.

I like the location. It close enough to good places to eat. Caesar's Forum Shops, Venetian, Wynn, and Strip Burger.

I like their buffet too but have only had for breakfast.

Yes the pool is just a standard pool but that being said I enjoy the pool every day of my stay and a pool is a must for me but it doesn't have to be fancy just a place to get a little bit of sun to detox from the night before. But if you are going for a "party" pool atmosphere by all means stay somewhere else you will not find that at Harrah's pool.

Might be choosing between Harrahs and Ballys, both standard rooms, which one is better? Which has a better pool? pool DJ ect.

Stayed at Harrahs in Jan. There were three of us, hubby, 23 year old son, and myself. You asked about the rooms. . . . had a room in the Carnival Tower. No noise from Carnival Court because it was being remodeled at the time. The room is rather small, but addequate. Standard extras in the room, i.e. hair dryer, ironing board and iron, flat screen tv, and safe. My only complaint was there isn't enough drawer/hanger space for three people. We stayed 4 nights so the three small drawers in the closet was not enough space.
We loved the location. If you are a walker, the location can't be beat! We've stayed there three or four other times in the past and have not had any problems. If it's free, ya can't beat that!
If you choose Harrah's and are a Total Rewards member, look for that check in line when you check in. We bypassed 25 to 30 people and didn't have to wait at all to check in. FYI.
