EC and TR$ seem reduced from what I used to earn.

They're giving away comps on these online games. This is great if you don't gamble much and wouldn't normally earn freebies.

IMO, it feels like they have to take the comps from someone, so the only way to do it is from the players.

What do the casinos expect to earn from the online giveaways?

They hope to gain new customers. I don't doubt they are reducing comps but I wouldn't assume the money is going to fund myVegas. It's not entirely clear what the exact financial arrangement is between MGM and Playstudios but I haven't seen anything that suggests that MGM is footing the entire bill. For all we know, Playstudios may be funding some of these offers with ad revenue and cash from chip purchases.

well, our original trip plan was 2 nights downtown and 3 nights at The Venetian.
but being able to earn 3 nights free in a Mirage Suite means I spent my hotel money on a nicer room at Aria.
So all the money I'm spending (gaming, food, etc) will now be spent at MGM properties.
The whole point of the game is to bring in people to MGM properties that don't play enough to earn comps, and who may not normally stay at their properties.

and to be honest, I've never seen or read about any connection between comps offered to tiered players, and the MyVegas game.
