Any discounts for multi-night hotel stay?

Hey everyone,

We apologize if this has already been discussed, but we couldn't find anything by using the search function on here on this specific topic.

We're always looking for good deals or discounts when traveling to Las Vegas. Any money we can save on things like hotel rates or restaurants enables us to spend that money in other places to experience more things in this great city. We've seen that most of the discounts posted on the "Hotel Offers and Discounts" section of the forums here as well as other 'Vegas discount hotel' websites are all for either 1 or 2 night stays. We've done that in the past and saved money on the rate, as well as getting a $50-$100 food/beverage credit at the on-site restaurants.

What we're trying to find out is if there are any published discounts or deals for major hotels on the strip (CET or MGM owned) that offer more of a discount for staying 3 or more nights in a row? We don't know if that's how it works in Vegas, or anywhere else for that matter. But we were hoping that if we decided to stay for more consecutive nights at the same hotel, we'd save more money overall.

It mostly doesn't work that way in Vegas, especially on the Strip.

Discounts via publicly available offer codes often have minimum stays of two or three nights (I think Cosmo occasionally has offers that apply to 4 or 5 nights).

Other than that, the rate for an individual night is driven by inventory for that specific night, because there's so many groups, conventions, etc.

Occasionally you will come across a night where an offer code doesn't apply, due to high occupancy. So you'll get a discount on the first and second night, but not the third.

 

Multi night discounts are not common. About the only time I see them are at non-Vegas type resorts, and then usually after maybe 4 nights or more. Those other type of vacations.

In Vegas, it is per night. And, if you have done some pricing, you will see that your last night could be double what the first night was if you did a wed-sat night stay. Sometimes the weekday can be the killer if they have a big event or convention.

Multi-night - nope.

Make sure you always look at the hotel rate calendar to get an idea what is happening with their rates.

 

Your best bet would be to sign up to get emails from the different hotels so that you know when they're running specials. When I went in July, I snagged a package through MGM for a percentage off the room and that came with $75 food an beverage credit.

It can be annoying to get a lot of emails, but you might be able to snag a decent deal.

 

I usually get deals like that downtown. Stay 2 nights get the 3rd night free, that sort of thing. They will have them on the hotels site.

Have not seen this on the strip other then what people get for comps.

 

Any deals like that I have seen have come from being active in a players club for a time. So if you pay for x nights the casinos will comp one more. You have to remember most folks are coming for vacation or for conventions. They are already doing three or four nights. The type of discount you are talking about sounds like something you would see in an area that caters more to people doing one night stays and trying to draw longer reservations.

 

CET properties sometimes run "discounted offers" for 3, 4, and 5 night stays, but are sent out in their promotional emails. Sometimes, the rates are no better than what they already have listed though.

I did see a Palms package offer recently where the per night rate got lower the longer you stayed. An 1-night stay in the middle of the week was $179, but if you stayed the full week, the rate was just a bit more than $700 total.

 

Priceline and Hotwire used in conjunction with Betterbidding are your friends.

 

Sign up for their newsletter/emails and friend the hotels on Facebook to get the cheapest published rates. You might find the rates are cheap enough for you to be happy with the price for your trip. I usually am- Vegas hotels are cheaper than pretty much any other place I've stayed.....

I prefer to book directly with a hotel so I can change reservations as needed (assuming no cancellation fee, which is all I'd book in advance)

 

Sure they are, I get e-mails from places like Vdara and Monte Carlo that says that like "stay 3 or nights it's 30% off" 2 nights 20%.. etc etc.

But in general just find the best deal you can. There usually much reward to staying longer.

There are lots of ways to save money but it all depends on your priorities. I too prefer to stay downtown now. When I leave my hotel it is usually for the day or a good part of it, so it doesn;t matter where it is to me. Downtown is just so convenient. I can walk a couple of minute to dozens of restaurants for a fine stake or chinese food, enjoy the shops, people watch, listen to the bands or catch a show. If I want to go to the strip I can be at NYNY in less than half an hour on the WAX, or the convention center via the express ( I always forget the letters DSX?)in about 15 minutes.

If you are flexible look for a week that doesn't have big conventions in town, and if you are staying less than a week Sunday-thursday are the cheaper days. I hate to change hotels and like to stay 8 or 9 nights.I check everyway possible to save on the room and have found that usually it is cheaper to stay the entire time at one place than s-thurs at one place and the weekend at another. Look at packages, and check prices on Kayak.com. If you find a good price with a broker, call the hotel and tell them and see if they can do better. This year I got a price of $400 for 8 nights downtown thru Kayak, and called the hotel and got th same nights with tax and resort fee included for $253. If you like the strip think of one just off the LV Blvd. like the Clarion on Convention center drive. It is 10 minutes walking to LV Blvd and the bus stop or Walgrens and 15 minutes to the Convention center. They had some great rates for this month, or if yo have a car try Orleans, Terribles or Gold Coast.

Watch the special offers here in the Forum, just look, and look, and look. Just like finding a deal on airfare, the more times you look and the more places you look, the better your chances. Everyone thinks I'm spending a fortune going to LV every winter to my trade show. I projected this year's expense at about $645 for airfare from the East Coast, 8 nights, 9 days, bus transportatin and meals. Not bad, huh? then I can order stuff at the trade show and put the savings against the cost, then deduct part of the expenses since it is a business trip. The price of course, does not include drinks, gambling or entertainment.
