So as you might have guessed from the title I am getting ready to come home in Feb off of a year long deployment in Afghanistan. My wife and I have decided to use some of our leave time to go to Vegas for the first time. We're staying at Bally's in the first week of March, and I'm just trying to find out all of the great things to do so we don't waste any time while we're there!

    Thanks for your service! :nworthy:

Bally’s will be a great spot for your first trip. Excellent center-strip location. You’ll have a blast, I’m sure!

When you think of some specific questions, just post them. This board is great and someone here will have info for about any topic you care to discuss.

Welcome...and again, thank you for your service and sacrifices. Congrats on your 1st trip...hope you both have the time of your lives. Bally's is a great location for your 1st stay. So much convenient to walk to and so much to see. When you check in, please let the clerk know it is your 1st trip and that you just returned from Afghanistan....my daughter & son-in-law did that at Bally's upon their return from a stint in Japan where he was on the Kitty Hawk and the 1st ship there the day after 911. The clerk talked to someone in the back office and gave them a nice suite. Hope you score a nice room too.
Post away with any questions you might have after perusing the topics on this board and one of the vets will be happy to chime in with suggestions. Might want to check to see if "I Love This Bar & Grill (Tob Keith's restaurant) still give a free beer & burger to active servicemembers....they did a couple of years ago.

    Good luck!!

Good for you planning a trip with your wife after your service! Bally's is a great choice in terms of location and affordability. I liked my stay there.

What do you want to do? Shows? Nature? Probably not desert trips, lol.

There's nothing wrong with walking along the strip and taking in the big casino's like a tourist. Bellagio fountains, Bellagio Conservatory, Aria/City Center art tour, Wynn and Encore. Some stuff is cheesy but great.

Go downtown and walk along Fremont Street, maybe go to Main Street Station for the buffet.
