    Ey there!

I'm heading to vegas in 4 days for my first trip there and I'd like to know which is the best place on the strip or around the strip (not downtown) to sit down and have a couple beers without emptying my wallet???

    Thanks so much!

    GT

Sit at a penny slot at any casino, slow-play the minimum and suck down free beer all day long. Otherwise head for Casino Royalle and $1 Michelob.

Good advice, but I heard that it's fairly difficult to get free drinks if you're not playing big money. I plan on gambling something like 150 bucks a day which isn't a lot!

What's the best place to get those free drinks while gambling?

I would heed ardee’s advice. But, if you must sit at a bar and NOT gamble...and you are able to stomach Michelob or Mich Light…Casino Royale has them for a buck.

And you don’t have to bet big money to get the free drinks. I’m sure that there are plenty of people who have a similar bankroll to yours and have never paid for a drink in Vegas…just make sure to tip the cocktail waitress ($1 seems to be the average tip, but a five or ten at the beginning will keep her coming around often).

I'll try that! I'm quite of a big beer drinker so I'll go to Ellis Island too, with their 2,25$ pints :drunk:

Casino Royale is near which other casinos? It's on the strip, right?

Head down to Hooters Casino. If you're a beer drinker, you will love it. Bud/Bud Light specials all day, everyday.

Go sit at the bar and put a 20 in the video poker machine and they don't blink an eye. Tip a buck each time and you'll never get below the half way point of a bottle.

If you are south strip, you can always go to the hooters casino... The bud lights were either $2 or $2.50.
The bar in the back right is usually empty, but the bars in the front usually have a crowd. I don't know if they finished the construction where one of the bars in the front area is. I always have a blast at that place. Plus if you are looking for some cheap and decent eats, check out the mad onion..they have a decent prime rib for less than ten bucks.

You can always sit at a bartop, throw a $20 in the machine and slowplay video poker. Depending on what casino you are at, a lot of the time the bartenders don't give you a hard time for putting the machine on quarters and just hitting the button every now and then.

I'll be staying at Planet Hollywood for four nights. I'll definitely try Hooters and Casino Royale. Thanks for the tips, guys!

I don't mind spending money, I just don't want to lose all my gambling budget buying drinks all the time :evillaugh

check out Diablo's Cantina at Monte Carlo. The last time I was there they were passing out buy one get one free drink coupons righ outside. They also have some kind of a happy hour wheel they spin once an hour i beleive and they have cheap shots, beers, etc.

Since you are gonna be at PH, Blondie's in the Miracle Mile does beer specials sometimes... I think they do an all you can drink for like 20 bucks or something (but that might be only during football games).... worth checking out since you are there.

I've always seen 2 for 1 or other drink specials at La salsa cantina... the one on the strip between PH and MGM. I know there is one in the Miracle mile as well but I dont know if they do those specials.

$150 is more than enough gambling budget to drink till you drop. They key is to go to casinos and games in those casinos with frequent drink service. I can't say this with any authority but I feel that the servers come by quicker at table games than slots. I'd imagine bar top machines would get even more frequent service.

The only place I've ever been where they check your bet amount is Planet Hollywood at their bar. On the flip side, they'll NEVER check at a craps table. I've seen people served who were simply standing next to someone playing.

If dive bars don't bother you, the Stage Door just behind Bill's on Flamingo road is pretty cheap to drink at. They have VP but not sure about the paytables on those. Beer and a dog 2.50. Hot dogs actually decent, imo.
