Also I don't have facebook and don't plan to get one.....whats the need for it?

    Thanks

MyVegas is a game with slots and blackjack where you earn loyalty points the more your play. These loyalty points can be redeemed for rewards (buffets, show tickets, deck of cards, hotel rooms, etc) from mLife properties. That's the short version of it.

And it's only available on Facebook. Without a Facebook account (even one that's NOT under your own name) you can't play or redeem for rewards.

They're doing what they can to fix what's wrong with it. MGM has invested a lot of money giving out free comps and advertising for it so it'll last at least the end of the year I imagine.

Don't understand the need for facebook...I suppose for marketing...

Do you have to pay to play?

It's free, but you can buy chips and stuff. From what I hear, it's been pretty successful for both PlayStudios and MGM. Time to short some CZR and buy some MGM??

Is there a trick to getting a lot of points to start with or to getting extra points to play with per day (or other increment)? I just heard about this and haven't started playing yet.

Does the game do much spamming of news feeds/friends lists?

I don't mind the idea of playing, but I'd rather not be an advertising vector for others.

You can select to only publish your posts to yourself. So, when you view your timeline, there will be stuff on there, but it will only be visible to you. Otherwise, yes, the game loves publishing things on the news feed. In fact, that's how you can get a lot of extra chips; you click on others' posts to get bonus chips.

I would suggest either publishing your posts where they're viewable only by you, or you can create a separate facebook account where it doesn't matter what shows up on your timeline. Many people do this so they can benefit people they are "friends" with in the game, without alienating their friends and family with constant posts about what myvegas game you're playing

I take it then that without the group sharing stuff its hard to be able to play enough to get significant rewards?

I just played it for about a month and got a free night at the Luxor, 2 Carrot Top tickets for front row center, and $75 food credit at NYNY. I wouldnt do it again though, it takes alot of time to play and really messes with your FB account. I had to add alot of "friends" I didnt know, finally just got them all taken off. Dont get me wrong, its a great game and gave us a lot of cool free stuff to do on our trip in april, but I just wouldn't spend the time doing it again.

Not to mention Playstudios has been really kind of shady with the MyVegas friends page and basically made them close down. IF it werent for that page on FB(they posted links to the game where i got 50K chips a day free) I am not sure how anyone would be able to collect enough chips to play the game daily. Its really a huuuge headache in my book, but I am glad I got what I did.

Good luck if you try it, but they are changing the rules alot since people were getting waaaay too many comps. Its now down to 3 comps in a 30 day rolling period. I suggest anyone who does try to play, start a brand new FB page up and do it that way, dont use your existing acct.

On my FB page I only have 1 friend listed. How do you share coins with that friend? And receive from them? Of course, I find out about the ways to receive lots of points AFTER they shut it down!!

When your friend posts things to their news feed they will often have links to click to collect chips. And when you level up or hit a big bonus you can post it to your wall and your friends can click on it.

And the game will also prompt you to send gifts to friends and them to send gifts to you.

Because of this board I started playing yesterday. I'm at 3,000 loyalty points in the game and haven't spent a dollar on it nor have I bugged any friends. I did find out a few of them also played so I sent requests. You both get extra chips. You log in daily and build casinos by winning them in the slot machines. Each casino has a "reload" time, that once it is finished you click on it and gain additional chips to bet with. Logging in each day also gets you extra chips, and the bonuses go up for daily play.

Had I known about this game some time back I would have been playing all along. As it is, I am either hoping to earn some free food for my trip in 3 weeks or just save the points and use them for some free rooms later in the year.

Worth noting that it gets tougher at higher levels (you need bigger bets for the same LP impact and there are bigger gaps between levels), so having a bunch of friends makes it way easier.

I went the alternate account route. Which is great in someways but can cause complications dealing with terms of service (facebook gets suspicious when you add hundreds of friends in short order, and thinks you're a spammer. It also does not like when all your posts/gifts are for one game). So I've been locked out once (creating a comical situation where I had to look at pics of people I didn't know and get their names right), and am on some sort of 30 day double secret probation thing at the moment.

That's why you always buy insurance. It's 2,500 but when it hits it pays off at 7,500. It's basically a foolproof bet, especially at the second round.

I don't think its worth it to get in round 1. Insurance is a banked win if you get frogs or alients, but often instead you win, but its less than the insurance payoff. Usually I'll risk it on the first spin, and if I get a low number ill go again and insure.

I started playing a month ago. I play on both my and my sons acct. I cashed in two vouchers to Sunday brunch for 2 at Border Grill yesterday, each worth $60. I didn't spend any $$$ or bug anyone, and just set to auto spin while I work and check occasionally. That $120 worth of food for basically nothing but a few spare mins.
