My brother and his wife and myself and my wife are going to be sharing a comped room at Bally's during the first week of March. They will arrive in Vegas about 6 hours ahead of us and plan on checking in before we get there because the room is under his name. When I arrive I was going to try and have our room upgrade to a bigger room or even a suite perhaps for free. I was wondering if anyone had any experience trying to upgrade a room after it had already been checked in to? And also should I even be trying to have a comped room upgraded? Or is that an unwritten rule that your getting this for free so be happy?
I'm not sure it's unwritten...it may be written. Since comped rooms get billed to the casino, not the hotel, the hotel (the people who check you in) are very unlikely to help you out with an upgrade since they have to check with the casino. It seems like it's all one big pot of money, but it's not.
Why wouldn't your brother ask for an upgrade when he checks in? It seems more likely to happen then. OR he could try the $20. trick? I think the chances of an upgrade are better then. OR have him wait until you two arrive to check in.
My friend got 2 nights comped at MB. He upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite for an extra $100 per day. My be different at CET though.
I've paid for an upgrade to a suite. If you go from free to just a few bucks, it's worth the price. They also waived the resort charges as it was originally a comp room. I doubt they would be receptive to the free thing. You can check that hotel in the $20 trick thread.
I had orignally talked to my brother about asking for it but he's the shy type and doesn't like to ask for things like that. I will try and see if they can hold out until we arrive before they check in. Thanks for the advice!
Yes! I have stayed in their grand suites before. The grand suite I stayed in had 4 rooms and two stories. I think it basically a large room with 3 or 4 connecting rooms. Each of the rooms had a separate front entrance, and one key can open any of the doors. Not bad really.
An upgrade may be to just a larger room. Still 4 people sharing one room. Most suites have one king bed. Also, the hotel is in mood to move somebody from a room that is already checked in to another room. After all, they have to re-clean the first room, etc. In your situation, I would check with the hotel about him getting a 2nd room. You may be surprised at the rate you may get. Also, they have a Friends and Family rate - google it. All this assumes you have zero play at CET.
