I'm sure this is old news to people who have been in the last two years, but I just read about all the changes at Slots A Fun. No more table games, including the craps table that was practically right on the strip. No more footlong hot dogs, in fact, there is hardly even a cashier working! I enjoyed some of the so called "sawdust joints" (O'Sheas, Westerward Ho, even the Boardwalk HI was fun the first time I went!) I consider myself a regular guy and places like Wynn, Bellagio and the Venetian are too rich for my blood!

On one of my last trips 3 years ago, I had probably the most fun at Slots A Fun. I wouldn't be surprised if this is another place that closes eventually. I guess I'll have to take my low rolling action Downtown and to Casino Royale.

Please don't tell me they got rid
of the industrial cleaner smell that
doesn't mask the smell of the vomit + urine ?

They cleaned it up sometime back, completely ruined the ambiance. Tables gone fewer slots and you don't stick to the floor in the mens room anymore.:nworthy: Why oh why:cry:

    Yah,

Not sure what is keeping this place going? Maybe the foot traffic from Circus Circus.

First time in Vegas we spent a lot of time there shooting craps (its where we learned to play).

Second time we also played craps, same with 3rd time...4th and 5th...craps gone = so were we!

I remember a guy at the craps table had just come in from Australia, he had a 12 pack with him. I had ordered a beer but it was slow in coming (an anomaly) so I asked if I could have one out of his case and I woudl give him the one I ordered when it arrived...no problem.

As much as I want to see this place stay up and around, there has to be a reason for it to. Right now there isn't.

I am wanting to do a trip to see a Vegas implosion...is this the place that will get Vegas back to implosions?

You could implode Slots with a couple of firecrackers.

Sad to hear of the changes. I'm glad my wife started going to Vegas with me in time to still see some of the way it was: Stardust, Frontier, Boardwalk, Westward Ho! and all the rest of the spots that were so much fun.

Very disappointing! We made a point of starting at least one day on our trips at Riviera and Slots a Fun. Loved playing blackjack at this whole in the wall.

still fun down there and super cheap beers.

Not as lively as it used to be with the table games but still ok.

The craps table by the street was a classic. Didn't miss playing at it once I graduated to the big boy craps tables, but as a novice, loved the low limits and easy accessibility.

I loved that place. No point in going there now. I also miss the Silver City, another low roller joint across the street which was also formerly owned by Circus Circus.

I'm guessing the downturn in the place can be attributed to almost no foot traffic in that area anymore. If Echelon and Fontainebleau had been completed it might be a different story now.

Slots used to be a great place to go when we got tired of the Riv's casino. Now I'm only over there when I'm waiting for the bus. It' s gotten even more disgusting, which I didn't think was possible!

I still might pop in for a quick visit as I have been getting slot play offers at the Riv, and want to use some of their coupons in the LVA book. I don't think I can stomach going into the main part of Circus Circus again unless its to go to the steakhouse.

It was a mandatory stop our first few trips but stopped going there after a while. My first time to Slots-A-Fun is still one of my favorite Vegas stories to tell.:beer::beer:

I've been going so long I actually saw Sigfried and Roy at the Stardust (on one of my many trips by myself before marriage and kids, etc.)!! I think that was around 1987 or 1988. By the time I took my husband in Nov. 1990....already so many changes.

I don't think you probably want to introduce anything into your system from there. :wink2:

The whole place is about the size of a school restroom and just as clean. :evillaugh
