i had the other thread about my annual psyical results deleted , but i am here to say for anyone who cares that my results for the lung xray and ct scan came up NEGATIVE
i am so very relieved to finally be given a clean bill of health
now sonya may delete this thread , ok by me but i wanted everyone to know i am o.k.
i smoked for 20 yrs and have been quit for 15 , but when the doc says they see something in your lung , well it scares ya
i hope no one here ever has to go thru what i just did ........if you smoke ...stop now ...
the last 5 days were the longest days i can remember ....many things go thru your mind , many unpleasant
you see things differntley when you are handed a death sentence ... trust me if you have lung cancer your chances are slim .....
playing the odds ? here you will lose ...
one fact i did not know ....if you have ever smoked you still have a 50% higher chance of getting lung cancer , no matter how long ago you quit than a non smoker ... think about that ...

    Good to hear lucky.......
I'm in the process of quitting smoking now. I was smoking a pack a day for the last 10 years... but I finally decided I'm sick of feeling like crap and wasting $250 a month. I've been doing good so far.... nicotene gum and smoking anywhere from 0-3 cigs a day to slowly wean myslef off smoking completely in the next few weeks. Its been 2 weeks now and I can breathe better and actually smell and taste again.

I'm taking the 8 bucks a day i spent on cigarettes and putting it in a vegas fund. So hopefully if I make it out there in May I'm gonna have an extra grand to put on top of my regular budget.

My big reason to stop smoking has been watching my dad's health deteriorate over the last 2 years or so. He has been smoking for well over 30 years and it has done a number on his cardiovascular system. I don't want to be in the same position he is now 20 years from now.

Congrats! As someone who has been through at least one "scare" I sometimes think it is better than not going through one. You have such a new appreciation for a lot of things, it's ALMOST worth it.

As a ex-smoker for 40+ years I encourage you (and others) to stop NOW! When do you quit for good you will look back and wonder "how stupid can one be".

Glad to here you are ok.

I wouldn't feel bad about Sonya deleting that thread. I think she wants this board to be like LV.

    All fun and positive.
