Hey all, if I'm downtown and want to move on fast to the next casino will they exchange chips right at the tables or is this a big no-no?

If you mean you want to redeem your chips for cash right at the table-- the answer is always NO.

Dealers will always be happy to do the opposite-- i.e. take your cash and issue chips-- but no table games will issue cash for chips. There's a reason why all cash goes into the "drop box" at the table games, and that reason is that it goes to the "soft count" room at the end of the shift. You can't get your cash back at the table. Sorry. The house always wants the player to keep gaming anyway and to maximize the number of hands dealt. If this was allowed, "cashing out" players would just slow this down.

Your only recourse is to take your chips away from the table, when your session is finished, and redeem them at the cashier's cage. You can always do this later on in your trip, if you feel the need to do so.

    Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure he means to take chips from casino A and exchange them for chips at casino B. I don't think they will exchange them at the table. Maybe at the cage, but the hassle effect will be greater than just cashing out at the first casino and buying in with cash at the second casino. My buddy left the D casino with a pocket full of chips and cashed them out at the MGM Grand, but the hassle was better than a cab ride downtown to do it at the D.

It depends upon where you are. If you are within the same mega-corporation, (MGM, CET, Boyd), it's often no big deal to present $100 or $500 chips from casino #1 and they'll give you new chips from casino #2, right at the table. The table-games supervisor will come over to approve it, but I've seen this handled several times.

I always take the time to turn everything back to cash when I'm done with one casino.
