I can hear it now - "Hello, Housekeeping? We're gonna need a bigger mini-bar."

I dont think they are going to have room inspections anytime soon.

what i do think is that they want to discourage people from wheeling giant coolers through the place.

of course for most of us we will do it anyway but it might discourage some people from doing it.

I bought a cooler that looks like rolling luggage so you really cant tell its a beer cooler at all.

I brought a ton of booze into our suite a couple weeks ago. Housekeeping even brought us extra glasses. So don't worry they don't care if you bring booze in.

Well... they do "care", they're just not going to do much about it.

This isn't uncommon as I saw the same notice at Harrah's. Their position has to do with liability and what happens if you have an accident. Since it is so easy to get a drink on the casino floor they don't want you to get drunk in your room then go downstairs and get hurt/start a fight. They want to be able to cut you off when the bartender or cocktail waitress can see you are intoxicated.

Just do what I had to do in college, we had dry residence halls. You hoist the beer up to your room from your window. This will much easier with a balcony. If it's liquor, that's easy too. You just stuff the bottle in the waistband of your pants and wear your shirt over it as you walk by the desk.

    Brings back good times...

Actually, if you were to check the "rules" for most hotels, you would find that you are not allowed outside booze.

And, if you were to check the coolers being taken to rooms, you would find lots full of beer and stuff.

    Not to worry.

This sounds like cruise ships. I have no problems smuggling a little illicit liquor in there either.

Its also against the rules/law to fck hookers and do drugs but I dont see that slowing down anytime soon.

Its more a combination of them not wanting some dirtball to be dragging their red Coleman cooler filled with Natty Ice and Meisterbrau through their hotel and lobby and like someone else said, there are plenty of places on property to obtain drinks like the casino floor and the mini bar.

We held my 50th in a wraparound terrace suite at Cosmo and brought in all the liquid refreshment for the party. Housekeeping also brought extra glasses so if it's a rule, it's not enforced.

I've stayed in wrap around twice now and bought a few bottles
Of wine and champagne --one would be stupid not to bring along some sort of alcohol. Obviously the policy is to discourage the "cooler" crowd. Honestly though if you are staying at the cosmo why would you drag in a cooler of beer. That is just unclassy and cringe-worthy. Heck, just sit a table and get drunk off some free alcohol.
