Some places it seems like better to play on separate cards and both get offers. Others better to combine play and get more points on one card resulting in more free nights, etc..
    What do you all do?

My wife and I generally just play on my card. We travel together so we don't need a lot of offers as generally what we accumulate on my card is enough to cover us both. If we traveled with larger groups it maybe more worth while but just the two of us what we are doing seems to work out the best.

This comes up often, though I have not seen in for a month or so.

The answer will vary depending on play. In our case, my wife plays so little, she would not be getting offers. So, we play on one card.

In many cases, playing on one account/card will increase the ADT and therefore increase offers.

We play on one card. It was the only way we could get to the higher levels in the Total rewards for us. In the past we'd each almost make it to Platinum, so we've combined our play and we make Platinum with no problem, this year we even made diamond (that wont ever happen again though), and it's worth it for the check in and line passes at restaurants. We generally split any bonus dollars by playing them together, and we use the generated slot on dinners which we do together. Now doing this for a few years and I don't see any reason for us to play separately.

Basically your choice should be....if either one of you can make a higher tier (in whatever program you are enrolled in) then you should stay separate and get offers on both, but if combining gets you to the higher level then do it.

I always just used to play on my BF's card - right up until I wanted to take a solo trip - and then had NO offers that I could use. We are both strong enough players where we each have and play on our own card now.

We play mostly on one card. We always put some action on the other card just to stay on their radars.

My wife and I both play on seperate cards that are linked for tier points and express comps, but have different freeplay amounts.

I do wonder with m-life it would be better for my wife and I to play on one card instead of this system in terms of the hotel offers. Anyone have any idea?

In general, I think if all play went on one card, you would look like a bigger player, and get better offers. This will vary by casino of course. If you are only getting basic rooms at MGM, putting play on one card may get you to suites.

As mentioned above, if she wants to travel without you, there would be a problem.

I dunno, I think its best if you can get some data on each of your play and see what it would look like combined. I used to have my girlfriend play on my Total Rewards card when we went to AC but she's not at all a gambler and literally plays penny slots at minimum coin for sheer entertainment and free drinks while I gamble. Her play added next to nothing to my account so a few months ago I had her get her own card to play on figuring she'd get some marketing offers at least. And she's already started receiving offers - mostly pointless discount rooms (since mine are always free anyway) but also things like small dining credits. My dining credits are much much larger, and they haven't gone down because she's no longer on my card. So in effect as a couple we've gotten slightly more.

Basically, I think, if one of you is a much bigger player than the other it may make sense to play on separate cards.

Yeah I can see it both ways, thanks for the advice. We both play at the same time together, usually the same games. I tend to gamble longer, as she is very much a "make a profit and walk away" kind of player, whereas I just want to sit there and play my video poker and try to get as many free drinks as I can.

That being said, we usually play $1-5 (so 5-25 at max coins), so at least there is that. We are going back to Vegas in February for a few days, and we were hoping to spend some time gambling at Aria because we'd like a room offer there for the summer time. Maybe I'll try having us both use the same card.

Since we almost always go together, we play on one card to get better offers.

My girlfriend will sit at a .25 poker machine for hours while I will bounce around from penny slots, to tables to the high limit slots. If she had played on my card all year, I would have just made it to platinum with TR.

She is playing on my card this year.

We started with separate cards, but now only use one card except for Total Rewards, so that she can get room offers for girls' trips. I'm actually thinking of giving up my TR and just putting points on hers, since when I go on solo trips to Vegas I prefer not to be on the strip anyway.

There has been a slight advantage of being able to book two rooms, have another couple join us and give them one of the free rooms, but we don't use that often enough.

Since we both play MyVegas, we will have to get separate M-Life cards to cash in our rewards. Otherwise, for any new sign up we only use one account and get two cards.

We play on the same card at Golden Nugget and it definitely benefits us there. We go to Laughlin at lot and Aquarius sends offers to stay one night
($5-15). we can combine these offers - stay one night on his one night on mine and then pay for any additional nights. so maybe best to keep playing on both cards there (although I'm close to hitting he next level on that card so until I get there, we'll probably play on my card).

DW and I only double up together. I play up her card at Wynn, Venetian & TI and she plays me up at CET & MGM. So far it works great. She never goes to LV without me, but when I do a boys trip without her I end up looking like a low playing slug. So depending on how you travel...

We play on my card. My wife hasn't been to Vegas w/o me in over 15 years, so double offers don't matter to us.

Playing on mine keeps my Emerald status for B Connected but the margin keeps getting thinner. Barely made it for another year in October.

I play mostly dollar VP and she is strictly quarter VP. The small amount of craps I now play doesn't even show up on my score.

That play gets us a suite each trip and a Gold Card for food & beverage at the three downtown Boyd properties, which means I never use any points for F&B. I keep saving them for the day when we no longer get comped.

One place that we go to gives us 5X points on the day of our choice. One day we both play on one and the next day we use the other one. :ssst:

My gf uses my card..I actually give her a Emerald card as being a Onyx card holder my casino Blue Chip which is a Boyd property suggests not using it..I still haven't figured out why as they need my pin number anyways if I happen to lose it so I can't imagine why anyways...I have so many points it wouldn't bother me even if someone used it for food but thats still impossible as they would ask for I.D.

She used to use her own but we thought why..She is always with me anyways..

We have linked accounts at MLife, and we have them at where ever we can at all the others, I pay more attention at Mlife. Boyd and Cet send us decent offers to fill in. My wife recieves some offers from Mlife, but they usually dosend me the decnt ones.

    When you say "one card"...

When you say one card are you meaning 1 card or 2 cards under the same name? And if you mean 2 cards, does the casino frown on this? I've been wodering this for a while now and am heading there Saturday.
