Going to Vegas in March and earlier this year we stayed at Rio (work) then Aria, which we loved! The only downfall was I found it was so far from the strip, and we were waaaay down at the end of the hall which made even grabbing a little snack downstairs a trek.

Just found a decent rate for Paris, however DH thinks it won't be as nice, so a downgrade (I'm hoping for a red room upgrade) but thinks the convenience of being right at the strip a perk. Thoughts?

It's all about what you value. Paris is certainly much more convenient. But it is a very large step down from Aria IMO...maybe a few very large steps.

Aria is far nicer as far as rooms and amenities but paris is nicer then rio so you will be somewhere in between the 2. That being said I far prefer the location and access to the strip of Paris over Aria.

Caesars Palace is the closest CET property on par with Aria. Although I would say the level of service and ammenities at CP does rise very slightly above Aria. Aria standard rooms are on par with CP rooms.

Paris red rooms are nice but showing their wear, and not on the level of Aria. You would be disappointed. If your adventureous you can get great deals on priceline on the Hilton PH time shares (formerly Westgate) not sure what your target room rate is.

Paris has great decent rooms. Not outstanding like Aria.

Paris has a great location, no so much Aria.

Paris is a short walk to MANY decent priced food options, not so much for Aria.

Either place is way better than Rio, since you can walk to other hotels easy. Very easy with Paris for most places, a little better from Aria if heading south strip via MC, NYNY, etc.

If a standard okay room is fine, then Paris would be my choice.

Thanks all! I'm not picky when it comes to rooms, we don't spend much time there - I didn't complain about Rio, so I doubt Paris will be an issue ;)

Yes, it's still nice though, but don't expect Aria. Great location though, lots of great dining I like it there.

Thanks. I've also stayed @ Bally's three times and didn't mind it at all (even the south tower) apparently I have low standards :evillaugh

    Agreed about three steps down.

Paris was intended to be a four star hotel while Aria was intended to be a five star. (I am talking in terms of an Expedia scale!) So yes it is a step down but at the same time you wouldn't be dropping down from a Ritz to a Motel 6. I don't like the feeling if being trapped in MGM-land that you get in City Center so I understand why Aria is less attractive but it's the location that keeps it from being priced in line with its real comparables.

Paris is a drop of about 2 levels from Aria, but it is a level above the rio. That is just my opinion of the hotel and the amenities it provides. This is referring to the actual hotel, not location.

Now the good news, you have THE BEST location in vegas, you are right in the heart of the strip.

    Have a great time

Aria is above anything caesars offers and paris is 3rd on the caesars list behind caesars and ph. So about 2-3 steps below is about right.

I guess that I may be a bit stuck on Paris, but I have found that the casino size, shops, restaurants, their personnel and rooms are to my liking...and you can't beat the location as compared to Rio or Aria.

It just depends on what your needs and expectations are.

    Good to hear.

I'll be there in less than three weeks (for the first time in winter so no pool for us), but I will try not to take all of their cash and leave some for you!
