Vegas Before Christmas 12/21 - 12/24 11th Trip ! LOW ROLLER TR w/pics

Pre Trip

After our Vegas connection couldn't come through we finally stayed downtime for the very first time !

While looking for hotels a few things are a must since we've been spoiled by our connecting. Fridge and coffee maker are a huge must. Microwave is a plus but not necessary.

Booked El Cortez Cabana Suites Super Suite for $149.xx
Was able to price adjust to $127.xx a week before the trip since the price had dropped =D

first time i took Myvegas coupons. Managed to snag a couple for buffet passes to Bellagio. I emailed the buffet manager and asked if i was able to use them during holiday periods. (more on this as we delve more into the TR)

Also jumped on the 2 for $40 @ Mirage Cravings with unlimited beer and wine from travelzoo.


Day 1

So we take off at 9am wanting to finally stop by M for a change. I had been wanting to check it out since it opened. As all out other trips we drive out taking the 170 to the 5 to the 14 take highway 18 to the 15.



Stop by the Burger King on Hwy 18 for some snacks and off we go again...




we take another a pitt stop at Primm and at this point its about 1:30pm so we cancel the M stop and walk the outlets a bit. I stop by a few stores that i shop at and find nothing.

Back on the road for the last 30 min until vegas !

while looking through my stuff i realize i forgot my laptop charger so our first stop is non other then



i buy a charger and im good to go.

We get to the hotel at about 3:30pm and Check In is a breeze. I thought it was going to be a hassle walking to one building in order to stay at another but nope it was a hell of alot easier then Circus Circus Ridiculous walk toward the back of the casino in order to get to our room.... walk to the cabana suite and we are greeted by the security guard and the front desk clerk. We get to the room on the 2nd floor and WOW very roomy and comfortable. My ONLY complain is the ottoman... they really need to throw those things out and get a computer chair.


We settle in and its 5:30 then decide to head over to mirage craving for dinner. No problems with the coupons we get charged the tax on the price which is fine. Last time we had cravings they didnt have any sushi but this time they do so i dive in.





my only options are Budlight and House wine. i opt for beer.

Food is excellent yet again at take full advantage of the unlimited alcohol so we sit around for about 2 hours just drinking lol.

we leave and its about 8:30pm and my lady tells me shes tired so we turn it WAY early.

Day 2

we wake up around 11am and get ready to hit up some stores for last min gifts. Outlets South IS PACKED ! but we manage to get a parking spot near the entrance. We walk around a bit and my lady says shes hungry but i turn down food since i was able to get the bellagio passes as a surprise. After the shopping we head over to the bellagio. I tell my girl that i got tickets to a signing from a member of KISS (im a huge kiss fan) and she rolls her eyes and says ok lol. Back to me emailing the buffet manager, The fine print of the coupon says "not valid on holiday menu items" i email the manager and she tells me that aslong as we make the buffet before 3pm we can enjoy eating there with the coupon.

WE BARELY make it and its 2:45pm so i tell my lady to drop me off while i pick up the "tickets to the signing" i go to the M Life booth and i hand over my coupons. The clerk goes over to what seems to be a supervisor and he tells me "sir we cannot accept Myvegas coupons during holiday periods" I politely explain the back and forth email conversation i had with the buffet manager and he says "let me see if i can get a comp for you" he goes off and talks to what looks like the slots manager. He asks me to show him the email so i pull out my phone and show him. He smiles and laughs a bit and says "im gonna have to have a talk with her" i tell him that if its gonna get someone in trouble id rather not the comp, he laughs it off and says "im kidding..." then he writes me this



i take my ticket to the buffet and my girl shows up and i finally tell her what we are doing and shes happy as ever lol. I always made the joke "i swear if i hit a jackpot we are eating at the BELLAGIO BUFFET!" lol.




FOOD WAS AMAZING !

not a single thing to complain about. I got a chance to see the total before the comp... $95 for 2 !

alot of the stuff they had im not usto seeing at a buffet. The lamp was excellent it literally melted when you took a bit out of it. The duck was also good. Sushi there was great. The cold cuts and cheese and fresh sourdough were a nice hint of a legit Italian deli. The pizza was also good. for dessert i got a few of those tiny shot glasses full of what tasted like coffee pudding.

a full belly and we are really to hit the slots ! We drive to Bills and park the car. sit down at flamingos where we start ordering drinks while we play slots. We both are at out machines for about 45 mins until im down $20 and we walk over to margaritaville where i continue to fill up on long islands. My girl doesnt drink so ofcourse shes driving. Im still down 20 and we decide to go to downtown. Park at Ballys and we walk over to la bayou where im still drinking long islands. Im guessing every casino now has a long island dispenser ? because every long island i ordered taste the same. La Bayou usto make the stiffist one and flamingo usto have the best in my view but i guess they all make it the same now. we leave la bayou and head over to LV club where my lady is up $35 and im down another $20.

She notices this



and asks what that is. Now im buzzed but im able to remember and tell her that it usto be the Fitz but the remodeled it and now its called the D. She wants to check it out and off we go. After browsing a bit we notice some escalators with a Neon sign that says "Vintage Slots" so we check it out and i notice another Derby quarter game ! but i forgot all my quarters. We sit down near the wall behind the escalator. My lady says i should try this machine



i put in $5 and bet 25cents a spin and 3 hours later im up $57 bucks !!!! during the 3 hours i noticed through out the night alot of security and slot clerks kept circling me while the machine was going crazy spitting out the pennies like crazy lol. At one point we ended up signing up for the D players club. I remember ordering long islands and Heineken i checked my watch and it said 11:30pm next thing i know i check it and its 2:45 !!! the machine just kept going up and up and up and up then down then back up and so on and so forth. Wow 3 hours. My lady asks if we could leave and she promises that we can go back the next day. Me being pretty well lit i say "leave ?!? for what so some other jerk can win this money ?????" lol. 3:30am it seems the machine has giving everything it was gonna give so i get back my $40 i was down and now im up about $30 bucks lol what a run.

we get to the room and i start chugging water so i dont wake up with a hangover.

Day 3

I wake up in a daze but not with a headache. I shower and wait for my lady to finish getting ready ... I log onto my vegas and notice that my reward has not been switched to "redeemed" i think nothing of it and we go to Main Street Station for the buffet. I remember they kick everyone out at 3pm for the dinner service so we go to the boulevard mall.

we head to MSS at 4pm and they don't disappoint. Theres a bit of a waiting line but we dont mind. Food again is great for 11 bucks for 2 (we use the fremont st. coupons). They make some great pizza !. Ribs are perfect and the Italian sausage i managed to get a cut when it was freshly made.

we take a quick trip to the outlets north which is another bust. No good deals for us.

Our last night in vegas i take my quartedto MGM to play the Derby. we walk the whole floor and its no where to be found. im a bit bummed No Lions no Tigers no Tom Jones (lol) what the hell ! lol. My lady rememinds me we can go to the D again they have a derby game. Off we go to the D

before i can start putting in quarters i notice the slot machine from last night i walk over put in a $20 and here is what happens





YET ANOTHER 3 Hour Run on the SAME MACHINE ! it started with a 30,000 hit and i upped my bet to 75cents and the machine kept going crazy almost every other spin was a win... anything from $2 - 30 bucks. I managed to take a pic of the mini game



when you hit 3 bags of money in any playing line you got this mini game ... you pick a character (i picked each of them on separate bonuses and saw no difference) the max number of free spins one could get was 5.



Every spin was a winner anywhere from $2.50 cents to $25 bucks depending on how much you bet.



i managed to go up to $209 bucks

i Hit 3 red 7s which were worth 100 plus whatever you bet

then i hit a few x5s on winning lines

plenty of mixed colored 7s which were worth $7.50

but i spend some of the casinos money and i go down to $140 and i cash out. Again while im playing plenty of slot clerks and security walk around me. Ive never had that ever happen to me. It was alot of fun. its now probably 3am again and off to the room we go.

We wake up at 11am and check out is noon so we rush and pack and make it. Walk down and check out at the front desk in the cabana building

we drive to outlets north for Chicken Now our favorite chicken spot in vegas. We walk off the food and notice a newly opened disney store so we walk in and find alot of stocking stuffers !.

with some D money in my pocket we stop by Primm and i walk into the nike store determined to find some nice kicks.

i find these 2 for a whoopping $40 bucks and change for BOTH !!!!



we then hop in the car and drive back to los angeles on christmas eve.

Yet another great short trip. I loved staying downtown and the El Cortez Cabana suites are highly recommended. Every buffet was great. Just a 10 trip for a low roller!

P.S ...

i just checked myvegas and my bellagio reward is still not in the Redeemed section !!!... might have to make a trip in march or just ask for a refund !!! LOVE IT !!!

I bet you still have that buffet. Maybe they wrote you a special comp because they weren't allowed to redeem your coupon on a holiday. Or something like that.

I just have one question, your report says you parked at Bally's and walked to La Bayou? That's quite the impressive home from mid-Strip to Fremont...

Being a low roller. I would rather spend the extra cash on a nice room then on food especially when you can get 2 MSS or Fremont buffets for the price of 1.

that being said, if another deal popped up for cravings with unlimited alcohol HELL YEAH !!!

this was our 2nd time at cravings. the 1st was part of a promo that MGM was offering which was stay at any mgm property for 2 nights and get 2 buffet passes free. We booked 2 separate reservations at 2 nuights a piece. One of the buffets we picked was Mirage and the other Aria.

I like cravings its real good. Hell my lady likes Cravings more then the Buffet at Bellagio
