This is all in the lower limit slot and VP areas.

Bottom line: Lots of variation, but they are definitely not stopping free drinks for lower limit players!

More or less in order from worst to best ...

    Planet Hollywood: Nonexistent!

Bellagio: Great way to sober up, just play there.

    Cosmo: Cocktail service? What's that?

Caesars: They come around, but don't hold yer breath. Ditto Flamingo, Harrah's, Bally's.

    Aliante: Consistently inconsistent.

    Sam's Town: Inconsistently consistent.

Eastside Cannery: **BRONZE STAR** Usually back before you finish the last one.

Arizona Charlies Decatur: **SILVER STAR** DUI summons just waiting to happen! :)

    And the Gold Star goes to ... {drum roll ...}

Rio: **GOLD STAR** They have this to a science, literally! Guy walks the floor with a wireless tablet. Takes orders and notes your machine number. Server brings it very quickly, just a few minutes. Order taker hits you about every 20 minutes very consistently.

These are my observations, anyway. :)

experiences sure vary, I think PH is one of the best on the strip. They usually come too often for my pace.

I always found the drink service at Bally's very good both at the machines and tables. Even when playing dollar keno. We've found rule of thumb is the more expensive the hotel, the worse the drink service. So no surprise Bellagio or Cosmo is not good, yet Arizona's is good service.

However the best service in the world has still got to be Harrahs AC. Just punch your drink into the display at your slot or VP machine, it even remembers your favorites with you card inserted for quick recall, and your drink comes in less than 5 minutes, no comp charged, and even a status that tells you where your order is (placed, filled, being delivered). Seriously, it's unbelievable.

Harrah's AC sounds awesome! I'll have to check that out one day. In Vegas, the most consistent, get you wrecked on cheap booze, cocktail service is at Mermaid's. The cocktail waitresses usually have my order before I have found a place to sit. They then find me, with my drink, and take my next order. It's crazy. It's also one of the few places that has been happy to comp both myself and my gf a drink when only one of us is playing.

    Yes, still here.

Extended family for the holidays. Not really that much "exciting" so far except for my brother getting in an argument with a bartender. :) Just playing around mid strip and over at Sams Town and some of the outlying casinos off and on.

Cosmo drink service last week at the quarter progressive video poker machines was faster than we could drink 'em.

Bellagio? I believe Webster's has a picture of their slot floor under "Alcoholics Anonymous".....they should get the Betty Ford award for lack of drink service. Better chance of getting a one-armed bandit handjob from Jim Murren's wife than a drink in that arid wasteland.....

I found the opposite this past week with Cosmo and Bellagio drink service far superior over any other strip property with Ballys and Flamingo a close second. I dont think there was a time in any of these properties that I went emoty handed with a drink. I cannot say the same for Aria, Paris, Wynn or Palazzo absolutely abysmal.

I had the same experience at the B.

    My report for others:

    Paris - pretty good
    Aria - decent
    Silverton - really good
M Resort - better than average
The D and Four Queens - CWs made the rounds often
    Orleans - pretty good
And my tops - Gold Coast. Those CW's know how to work a floor!

Thats usually the case. Though reports like these can be interesting to read, the quality and level of service can vary so dramatically that one casino might get a top grade one day and then the next day at the exact same time it can have non-existent drink service.

I think "consistently inconsistent" describes it overall.

Also, my reports were all from the lower limit slot areas. I do admit that the area we played in at PH, the penny slots right by the PF Chang entrance, was kind of off the beaten path. The higher limit areas closer in may have gotten decent service.

It has been a year since I've been to Mandalay Bay. I noticed that the cocktail service for machine players is good at the group player machines and the tables were excellent as well. I found the service playing video poker at the sports book bar excellent as well.

Any other part of the casino, you're better off buying a drink!

    Yes, pretty much.

I've had great service at Aria in the past... but on our trip in April we spent three nights at Aria and the whole time I didn't get a single drink from a cocktail waitress - they were just never around at any time that I could see or weren't serving where I was sitting.

And it can even vary from waitress to waitress as on our previous trip we were at Monte Carlo and on one night the waitress that was working the VP area was coming around almost too often and I never had a drink that was less than half full in front of me... the next night it was about the same level of busy in the casino and the same waitress was working the VP area yet over a three hour session I only managed to get one drink out of her.

I always look around to see if there is a cw in the area because if there is then she will be coming around again most likely.

I was at Plaza just a couple days ago and sat down and turned around to look and made eye contact with one from across the room and tractor beamed her all the way over to me.

If you just sit there focusing on the machine then they could walk right past you and you would not see them until its too late.

the moral is to not be a jerk but to let them know you are in play.

The best CW service I ever received was at The Mirage in 2010 by a nice lady named Morla. She was absolutely awesome.
