Thai Food on the Strip

Headed to Vegas in less than a month and trvaelling with a friend that loves Thai food. Any recommendations for thai food on the Strip? Thanks

 

There are two options: Lemongrass at Aria and SEA at Bally's. I really loved SEA and there is another review in the today's restaurant review thread. I haven't gotten a solid read on Lemongrass as the reviews have been all over the place. I've seen good, good but overpriced and mediocre and overpriced. For a recommendation in case you hit downtown, Le Thai is really good, too and actually affordable, especially compared to the strip options.

But I think I would trade every post to even be in the Cats 100 point scorer club! Of course, being 38, a college graduate, and with bad knees that don't let me play basketball anymore, I guess I have to be realistic!

 

Lotus of Siam is just off the strip, but close and totally worth it. I went there in April on a weeknight and had 1 1/2 hour wait, again worth it!

 

Le Thai is one block before El Cortez on Fremont.

 

I stayed at Aria for the first time over the weekend of Nov 30-Dec 2. My wife and I had lunch at Lemongrass. My fried rice was decent and my wife had some outstanding pad Thai. Service and decor were excellent. I would say that yes, it is overpriced, but consistent with other properties in Aria. You can pull up the menus online to get prices. They had some dim sum specials off the cart for lunch that looked very good.

One note: I asked about the heat (spicy) levels. I like food with some good heat to it. Our (Thai? Vietnamese?) server said that she liked spicy food and she typically orders a "3" out of 10. I ordered a 3 for my fried rice and it was very hot and it really pushed my limit. I can't imagine how brutal 8 through 10 are.

 

If you have a car and you're not looking for conventional American Thai (pad thai, etc), LoS is amazing. They've been named one of the best Thai restaurants in the country. All the food is authentic Thai cuisine, including their famed northern Thai dishes.

I really like Le Thai as well. If you're going to spend some time DT this place is a must.

 

Or if you don't have a car the 109 will put you within an 8 minute walk to the restaurant. It drops at Maryland and Sahara.
So you could catch it from the airport or from the BTC (trip is estimated at about 16 minutes from there) or from Tropicana if you started at the Pinball Hall of Fame and then walked back to Maryland.
Or you could see the new art museum on the university campus or catch Disney on Ice and then eat Thai by getting that same 109 that runs down Maryland.
Or if you are down near the old Sahara casino, the new Sahara Express bus will take you to the restaurant in just 8 minutes and of course all those strip buses can get you to Sahara for that SX ride.
