I am a BIG Christmas guy.
    Love everything about it.
I enjoy myself and people around me sense it.
Add to this....my son turns 1 yr old Dec. 22nd.:nworthy:
    .
    .
I had this thought this a.m.
    "I'm not enjoying anything right now....why ?"
    .
#1...Well, sleep deprivation has come into play --
my son has been waking in the middle of the nite
and I haven't been falling back to sleep the rest of
the nite.......4:15 am comes too fast ( up to commute to work ).
    .
    #2...In-Laws
They have problems EVERY December......like clockwork.
I told my wife : "Some people just can't enjoy The Holidays, honey."
They loved "coming over" to our house because of the cheery mood.
My wife would tell me about all the crap she has to do
to keep things relatively sane over at their house... w/ two
older siblings living at home....who can cause problems, too.
It taxed her......I stay out of the way.....just shake my head
at the nonsense I hear about.
    However, this year it's changed.
    They ain't "coming over" = They're HERE !
    My mother-in-law has moved in.
    I wasn't given advanced notice.
After a couple days.....I saw a BIGGER bag of clothes coming
    thru the door.
The poor thing can't smile + is on Meds. that make her drowsy.
My wife has bought a big TV + called Directv to install a box
    in our spare bedroom....tomorrow.
    I think I'm now...IN SHOCK !.
    .
I thought this was for a few days.........?
    .
I told my wife over the phone this a.m. -
"I'm not even into Christmas this year."
    .
I have no tree up ( the little guy would destroy himself )
I have one short string of lights up in the kitchen - which is
always turned off for some unknown reason to me ?
    My wife works Dec.22, 23, 25 ( 14 hr days )
and I'll be an exhausted "Daddy Day Care"
    thru that time period.
    .
    However,
    We may prevail......
My wife said today: "We're celebrating his birthday the evening of Dec.21st !"
"And I'm not going over to Mom + Dad's on the 24th ---
we'll celebrate Christmas together w/ our son -- smiling, here ! Dec. 24th"
Not w/ sad faces over there !"
I said, "It sounds good to me, honey.....maybe I'll get to watch
    "It's A Wonderful Life " w/ you on Christmas Eve.....while we
munch on seafood appetizers:licklips: with Special Ales + Pina Coladas !
Throw on some Bing Crosby and The Rat Pack Christmas CD's and
    I'll be complete, again !"
    .
    It's a chance ?
She made the decision.....I couldn't push her about it w/ everything
she's had to do + deal with.
    .
    But .....when's Mom leaving ?....oy-vey !:rolleyes2:

It's understandable why you're feeling the way you are.

The good thing is it sounds like you're still feeling hopeful and that's a
positive sign you haven't lost your love for the season.

Hang onto that chance that things will turn out well and try to remember that you can't control
some situations but you can control how you react to them.

I have been a bit on the "meh" side myself and I have always loved Christmas time.

Lost my mom when I was nineteen (Dec. 8) and my dad (Dec.9) a couple of years ago.

Wishing you, your wife and your little one a very Merry Christmas.

Thank you Ardee....that's very nice of you.
    Merry Christmas to you !
    .
I lost my mom several years ago during the
    month of September ---
I'm not quite myself during the beginning of that month.
So, I understand losing both parents during December
can be distracting ( to say the least ).
    .
I didn't quite make myself clear in my post --
It's my In-Laws depression that is a problem
    for my wife + I.
We're fine....just both of us are tired of it.
